Does this brabus fit 500E? You oppinion on price?

Dario,

At a minimum you have to change the hanger to a T welded between the tips. Also the input pipe looks to small.
I think it’s flow capacity would not be enough for the V8’s power.

FYI, My RennTech back box has a 3” input opening. The stock E500E has about a 2-3/4” input opening.

IMOP, Keep Looking

I have tried to fit w202 C36 Amg muffler into my 320CE without success, it was different shape and taller than stock one. Finaly welded only the tips.

I have been looking for exhaust for a long time. I just dont like stock look. What is everyone recommendation?

But this came from a V8 124

The part number stamped on the muffler seems to indicate it was originally fitted on a 202 chassis, and was likely modified to fit the W124 E420. Remember this will have to be welded on, and may require sacrificing your existing muffler to make the swap. I don't know if it would restrict flow enough to reduce power, I doubt it, but it's a possibility. Price seems fairly high for a modified muffler, IMO. At a minimum I would request photos of the entire muffler, showing the other end with the inlet pipe.

If you just want more rumble, consider an aftermarket Magnaflow or something, similar to what Rik (2phast) did on his 500E; along with a Timevalve Y-pipe. Or, shell out for the 036-specific Fox exhaust that JC220 (?) and Maui both installed.

Yes from a V8. My back box was originally off of a RennTech 500/600 SL. The reason I know about the T-hanger was on the SL it was not centered and it had to be moved to center between the tips to fit properly on my 500E. Looking at your 500E stock muffler you can see what I am talking about.

I’m 99.9% sure that Brabus can you are contemplating won’t fit on a 500E. It’s flow capacity is not enough and will choke down your exhaust and raise the back pressure to high. Remus made 2 sizes of back boxes for Mercedes sixes and eights. The V8 capacity was 241KW in metric the one for the 6 cylinder engine was less KW.

Soooo, what car are you trying to fit this on ? I assumed it was your 500E.

If it’s for your E320 Cabriolet I have no input

LEISTUNG AUTOHAUS / Matt Stockwell sells a Brabus style back box for the E500E but he is out of stock until the next run from 5thscaleracer (also here on the board) the manufacturer. All of the members that put them on thier cars like them.
I know Maui likes his.

I'm seeing $600, not $1k? If it's a true bolt-on, that's not unreasonable. Not real impressed with the weld spatter on the tips, but as long as you can't see it when installed. Wait, I see in the text he wants a bunch more $$ for the 500E/R129 bolt-on. WOW, talk about a bait & switch...!!

I can Make it to fit Someone else's eye. Another words I make these and Some of you guys seen other ones I make. I have people driving 2 or 3 hours to my shop in CT to make stainless mufflers or whole Exhaust systems. I use Stainless Piping Stainless Welds and High quality Lifetime warranty Mufflers from Wicked Flow or other companies if preferred. I Specialize with Mercedes cars and I restore them. These Mufflers Last forever and because Mercedes run so long they need a muffler that does not rust. Everyone wants a maintenance free car and Mercedes are those cars but with a Stainless Exhaust that's one thing out of the way FOREVER!!! Let me know what tips you want how you want Them angled. You gain Performance that definitely will make your Benz Stand out from the rest oft the cars. If you want to go all out and just do pipes no muffler I can do that too. If you do come to my shop I and I can perform the work on your car directly you can save 130$ on shipment and I can Inspect your W124 or any other chassis FREE!!!.

I can make the muffler for a 300D 300E 400E E320 E420, 300ce E320 Coupe or convertible, 500E and E500. Muffler pictured has a Magnaflow polished muffler which was an extra $100 an Ebayer requested. Also the pictured muffler is a 500E muffler and Because of the 2.75" pipes and a Special flange That build is $400 more on top of the $600. 2.75" original size pipe for 500e is twice more expensive and there is alot less room between axles so there is more wasted material and more work. Total For a 500E muffler with Magnaflow is $1000, Wicked Flow is $900.

Each muffler is about 10 hours of work and Ebay plus shipping takes $270, pipes are $170, Tips are $100 Weld wire plus Hanger is about 40 Flange is $15 total parts $310 + 250 ebay and shipping I Get $305 for 10 Hours of work Dont be surprised If I say Im out of stock at $30 bucks an hour at my shop huh most times I have better things to do then frying my skin. But for all non 500E its easier and 600$ with a wickedflow will do. Pipes are cheaper 2.50" and no flange so $600 is enough. With this slanted look there is no modifications to bumper necessary. If youre local I can install free of charge and give a better deal.

Ken got the Fox cat-back exhaust for under $900 delivered to USA, I'd seriously consider that if you are willing to spend $600 already.

This is for W202 I believe... the W124 brabus muffler is very different in design.
