Hi.

A guy in our neighborhood has a very rusty W140, 500Se -92. This is a donor car.
(west coast in Sweden)

The engine works, car is running.
Should be M119/ 326hp .... What is different from the engines we have in our w124, e500e? And is there anything else worth picking up on such a car? Nearly 30000km
Rear axel, gear?
About 2000$ Is asking

Best Regards Nik

Lots of good stuff.
Complete and transmission engine is useful

How about interior and exterior parts?

The oil pan, oil pump/pickup, dipstick tube, and exhaust manifolds are different on the W124/R129. The rest of the engine would be the same as a 1991-1992 500E. The transmission is the same and would be useful for a 500E.

The rear axle/differential is completely different and DOES NOT fit the W124. About the only other useful parts are the LH module and EZL.

$2k (USD?) sounds a bit high for a rustbucket with 300kkm / 200kmi, but if you need the engine/trans and both are in good condition, it might be worth it. Especially if you can sell the large W140 catalysts for scrap value (worth $$$).

:pc1:

It’s 2K usd…. What will the catalyst be in the scrap?
Interior is blu leather, in not a good shape I’m afraid….

The cats might be worth $500-$750 in USA, due to their large size & weight. I don't know what the values are in Europe though.

Pretty similar Dave. Last set I cashed in was about 2 years back and I got about £220gbp IIRC.

I agree that this car looks too rich at $2k USD. A w140 saloon in poor condition really isn't worth very much unfortunately.

That's a €500 euro donor car.
