Door mirrors

Hi all,

I went to the agent's today to order some new rubbers for the door mirrors only to be told these are no longer available individually, only with a new complete mirror... Is this true? Does anyone have the part numbers for a left and right hand door mirror rubber so I can order them up??

Many thanks

Paul

They were available as of last year, but very expensive. I hope they have not been discontinued, as that would be crazy.

:stickpoke:

...still available thru parts.com at the price shown in GVZ's "How-to" post.

Because of those prices, anytime I find a decent one in the junkyard, it comes home with Daddy!

If you are not OEM particular, you can get complete replacement mirror assemblies from here at less cost than the OE rubber boot! I have personally seen these Kool Vue mirrors & they have all the looks, features and functions of an original Bosch mirror. There's also a $10 off $100 purchase coupon CPW102311. Good thru Sunday Oct 23.

Thanks for the info - I'll check it out today. It looks like it might be worth getting 4, the way the prices are going.........!

2 parts ordered up this afternoon for Friday delivery. Total price now 130 Euros! Still, at least there's some left..........

I see a weekend of fun with a bucket of hot soapy water and some finger action coming up...

Yeah, these parts are in no danger whatsoever of becoming non-available. They are readily available but they will continue to go up in price per normal Benz parts price increases. The good thing is that they only have to be replaced every 10-15 years, and/or if you car gets a lot of sun.

My 560SEC's parts are still very supple, and are original. But for some reason they are made out of a softer rubber, which retains its pliability and doesn't fossilize and crack like the 124 parts do. Weird.

Cheers,
Gerry

I replaced mine last year as well. They go on easy, just use a heat gun to soften up the rubber so it stretches easier.
