E500 Keyless entry install

Installed my keyless entry system today purchased from this guy who specialized in selling a W124 kit

w124 kit: http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/...0-shipped.html

Dave posted in the thread (thank goodness) about a slight tweak for 1994 E500 models. Normally you access and install the unit at the central locking vacuum pump under the right rear passenger seat per the instructions provided in the kit. Alarm changes in 1994 however require that instead of tapping into the green, blue, yellow control wires in the vacuum pump you find another plug underneath connected to a white socket. Look at the photos below. In this install you pick up power & ground at the vacuum pump power connector (red/white +12V & brown-ground wire). Then you tap into the green wire coming off the black plug going into the white socket connector.

Just wanted to document this here, I know how helpful old posts with pictures are to me so maybe this can help someone else down the road.

Hi Guys,

Is it possible to install a new alarm and use only the wires located where the factory alarm is (under passenger front carpet)? All the wires are there but just checking.

Anyone have a clue whether the starter lockout feature can instead be used for the fuel pump wires? This is how I had it installed in England on my other car. SO no fuel pump unless you press disarm on alarm fob.

Greetings, I just purchased this keyless entry system from UAS KeyLess, I am uploading the manual they provided. Has anyone done this install or has experience with this unit? I understand the pump is either under the rear pax seat or in the truck, where would I find it on a 1993? - Thanks in advance.

You can pull the rear seat - it literally takes 30 seconds. And don’t use those 👿 evil hack-job amateur vampire crap taps! :sniper: ….. and for the cleanest installation, molex it!

Note that the instructions attached appear to be for USA models through 1992 without alarm. I think you need to splice into different wires for 1993-up models with alarm system.

Also, once it is working, if you lock the car with remote, you must unlock with remote (not the key). Otherwise the alarm gets out of sync and will go off. You'll learn this quickly.

Yuk. Out of sync issues? Hmmmmmm. I'd rather not install such "enhancements" .......

I've got a less-expensive (~$50) system on my wife's 1994 E420, which is how I learned this. They all work the same way, as they must trigger a particular wire to trigger the lock/unlock. Easy enough to deal with the unexpected alarm, and you learn over time not to mix key & less.

I think bypassing the alarm entirely may be a permanent fix. I don't have any keyless entry kits on any other 124's though.

I installed one of these UAS systems a year ago and it works well.

The trickiest part was getting the keys cut correctly. I went to the shop that the local MB uses and the old man could get them to work in doors and truck but not so well in the ignition. UAS cut and sent me some keys that work great. The owner is a good guy.

Otherwise the module was under the rear passenger seat and straight forward to install although I haven’t wired it into the alarm yet.

Dave do you know what would be the correct alarm wires for 93 up?

I had to ditch the UAS logos on the remotes and found these little AMG badges at the dealer. Yeah the logo is the wrong A for this vintage but it’s the best option I’ve found so far.

IIRC, the 1993-up systems need to splice into different wires, not the two green wires at the round plug. There's wires at a different round plug, I think. Or disable the alarm, as it's kinda useless anyway...

From the "super secret 034 / 036" wiring diagrams as of MY93!!!

EDIT --- in another display of ridiculous overengineering, why does the Anti Theft Alarm System (N26) need to have Right Air Outlet Nozzle Illumination (E10/3) tied to one of its inputs?!?!?!?! 🤦🏻‍♂️ :stickpoke: @kiev.

It's just the ground for the schnozzle lamp... ties to a door switch ground. Just adds to the mystery.

Just email the address on the instructions. He replied much faster to email than phone.
