ADMIN UPDATE: The party is over as of August 2017. See post #87 below for details. Thread title updated, will update again if these ever come back in stock.

I was able to successfully purchase a new set of Euro headlights (facelift) from Husker Mercedes (mbdirectparts.com) and they arrived this morning. Did not know if I was going to be successful ordering just through their site but within a day they said there would just be a few days delay because they had to ship from Germany. Part numbers and pricing below.

124-820-35-57 - facelift E500 Euro headlight, left ($234.43)
124-820-36-57 - facelift E500 Euro Headlight, right ($227.29)

Hope this will help out anyone else who is looking to purchase a pair!

Re: Euro Headlights - Easily Ordered online!

Thanks for posting part #s and prices.
It helps keep everyone else in the loop on pricing and availability.

For your info, Gainsville MB has those lights at $300 and $290 with our 500Eboard discount, so you have done well on pricing.

Your going to love those lights!

Re: Euro Headlights - Easily Ordered online!

Happy to help! I am looking forward to getting the lights installed and connected with the city lights option. Still researching bulb choice but I am ordering Lamin-x today.

I found out after placing my order that even better pricing is available here: http://www.worldoemparts.com/worldtoyotascionmercedesparts/

124-820-35-57 - facelift E500 Euro headlight, left ($218.67)
124-820-36-57 - facelift E500 Euro Headlight, right ($212.01)

Re: Euro Headlights - Easily Ordered online!

Very good post sir, I can confirm from the pictures and part number that these are the correct Euro E500 headlight with Chrome reflectors.
Lots of hype about the prices and availability of these headlight, as you experience they are available and at a good price.

Re: Euro Headlights - Easily Ordered online!

That is a great price.

I may have to upgrade the 93' with those.

Re: Euro Headlights - Easily Ordered online!

Trae, if your '93 doesn't have the facelift hood, they will look funny. You can get the 500E Euro lenses from Europe and swap them on to these headlamp assemblies though.

Re: Euro Headlights - Easily Ordered online!

Thanks here as well. The green car needs lights and some paintwork so it will get changed to late style.

Re: Euro Headlights - Easily Ordered online!

Before any of us do anything, make sure and head GSXR's warning about the look of the lenses on a pre face lift car.

I'll look up my old Euro headlight part numbers when I get back.

If you need to buy the lenses, you have to add that cost also.

Don't know how much those are.

'92-'93 pre-facelift Euro headlight assemblies:

124 820 43 59
124 820 44 59

Not sure which # is left, which # is right

Re: Euro E500 Headlights - Easily Ordered online!

Placed an order on Sunday (for 124-820-35-57 and 124-820-36-57) and just received this email:

"Hello...Thank you for your interest in our website. Unfortunately the items that you are requesting are currently not available to us.

We have issued a full refund...Thank you again for your interest!"

Anyone else receive something similar...?

It seemed to good to be true. I know it took a little effort to get them from MBC.

Did you place the order with Husker Mercedes?

I tried World MB in Akron, OH. First time I've ever ordered from them, figured I'd see what happened. First impression - I'm not impressed.

Just curious, has anyone asked their dealer how many sets of lights are left in Germany? The 500E Euro lights went on fire sale kinda like these are, shortly before they went NLA...

Re: Euro E500 Headlights - Easily Ordered online!

Thanks so much for this "heads up", just got a positive response from Husker, 7-10 arrival from Germany.

Re: Euro E500 Headlights - Easily Ordered online!

Sorry for dumb question as guessing it's somewhere else already but how can I tell if I have an appropriately facelifted hood?.....gsxr do you have a comparison pic like for the headlights?

I have a 92, eurospec that has been "facelifted", however my HL were done by a prior owner as std w124 euro lights instead of 500e specific and I would love to get them accurately done and be able to use the city light function

Assume this is a relatively easy DIY project for even the less mechanically inclined?

Re: Euro E500 Headlights - Easily Ordered online!

That's great news. Husker parts just let me know there are only 4 left in inventory of the right side headlight (124-820-36-57).

This is your car, correct? http://www.500eboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7869

Yep, that is a facelift hood and uses facelift lights. I can't tell for sure from any of those photos what headlights you have now. Is there a label with a part number on your existing lights?

Re: Euro E500 Headlights - Easily Ordered online!

I think my HL are reg w124 euro as have "striated" vs clear center high beams I think as in standard w124 that is the fog light right and not highbeam?

Re: Euro E500 Headlights - Easily Ordered online!

What is the url for husker? Sorry to be dense but my browser doesn't show that a mbpartsdirect.com exists and a google of husker Mercedes gives me a dealership by that name (which doesn't have a portal to place an online order)

I'm trying to imagine what an "In-appropriate" Facelift could possibly look like... as apposed to an appropriate Facelift.
Sorry for the off-beat humor, but "In-appropriate Facelift" sounds like it should be a Hockey penalty, or something you get 20 lashes for...:whip2:

Seriously, I thought all "Euro" HL's were wired for city lights, E500E's AND the rest of them.

The real difference is that the 500 lights have a driving light instead of a fog light, probably looks (mostly) similar from the outside, the changes are internal.

For that reason, it's worthy to get the correct 500 lights, the city lights can be had DIY on any euro HL, 500's or not.

Re: Euro E500 Headlights - Easily Ordered online!

I literally just figured out at same time....op says mbpartsdirect when url is mbdirectparts

Re: Euro E500 Headlights - Easily Ordered online!

This is probably info that most here already know, so I don't know if this helps anyone, but as stated above, all Euro 124 lamps have the bulb sockets and the internal wiring for the city/parking lamp bulbs. Installation issues and options arise when installing Euro lamps into a USA version vehicle. As the USA headlamps have no such bulb or internal wiring, the USA vehicle wiring harness and its attached plug connectors at the headlamps have no wire to feed positive voltage to these lamps. This is why some are confused when seeing discussions about the city/parking lamps, and the various ways that people can decide to wire them into a USA version car.

Re: Euro E500 Headlights - Easily Ordered online!

Right now, when we see a car with a regular W124 headlight, it's a noteworthy thing. It's a potential sign that the owner hasn't taken proper car of the car and makes one wonder if other corners had been cut. Soon, however, it will become a fact of life. Headlight lenses can crack. Cars can get bumped in the parking lot. And even the best intentioned owners will have no choice but to get the "wrong" headlight. Having the proper headlights will become the noteworthy thing.

Eventually, old timers will tell the young generation that once, E500E headlights were different. They were better. And the kids will smile politely and nod, all the while thinking "sure they were gramps. Sure they were." And they'll wait for the inevitable next crazy story, not to be believed, about how once upon a time you had to steer your car by yourself. With your hands!

Then the old timers will get a cracked lens and need to get a replacement. The years will pass and they too will wonder if the old lenses were really different after all. Or were they always like this. People will tell stories of knowing about a car that has the real, original lights. But no one will actually say they've seen the car themselves. Only that some old coots on something called 500Eboard swear it's true.

Then MB will run a re-issue of the original headlights for $250 a pop.

(note: it's best to read this with sad violin music playing)

Re: Euro E500 Headlights - Easily Ordered online!

Doh....checked tonight, looks like I actually have depo lights, replacing asap.....based on part numbers on gsxr's site husker carries the euro turn signals too, would the all white hella turn signals be the correct ones for eurospec? We're the white/ Amber combo ones a us spec only?

Re: Euro E500 Headlights - Easily Ordered online!

Looks like they have the Bosch ones as well for 25 bucks more.....any known difference?

Re: Euro E500 Headlights - Easily Ordered online!

Correct - white/amber was USA only.

Euro facelift cars had white/clear turn signals. Since the E500E headlights are only made by Hella, I'd probably lean towards Hella corners just to have things match, although the Bosch items are probably equivalent quality and likely almost identical in appearance.

If you are shelling out for all new bits, look at the fog lights in the bumper. If those are all pitted and sandblasted, get new fogs too (they're not expensive). If a previous owner had already replaced them, great.
