Already Pulled from eBay...say's "item no longer available"
Yeah, it was live this morning, but ~10 hours later it was NLA. Possibly not sold, hard to say when they don't even have the car...! Anyone ever heard of this "Order Your Euro Import" seller before?

:scratchchin:

I've never heard of them. They may of course, trade solely by eBay (the feedback on their site appears very positive). But surely, if you're selling high value cars (assuming this E60 is genuine) you wouldn't depend solely on eBay as your sales platform? Google doesn't bring up any leads at all.

Best avoided?

Here in the UK, Charles Ironside has a Japanese AMG converted E60 for sale at around £80k, and I believe Frays Motors sold a similar car recently for around the same figure. From this it would appear the "Order your Euro Import" car was substantially overpriced?

Frays also have what they say is one of the "original 12" E60s (although they don't seem to have any paperwork substantiating this). The price is "on application"!

Where ever the car is from they have US style license plates. What country would that be?

Hard to tell, but it looks like the entire front impact strip is designed to accomodate the US style plate. In other words, it would not be an option with this car to remove the plate insert and replace it with a plate-delete panel.

Looks like the emblems on the lid sits a bit too high, not that big issue...

The right side AMG-emblem on the airbox is glued back on the wrong way, or it may just be put back loose for the photo session. If the buyer pick up the car with that emblem just laying there, it will likely blow away during his first drive. Those emblems are NLA and during my 10++ years into the "036 matrix" I have seen them for sale just 2 times - one time a set with both emblems, and next on a complete airf.box for sale.

Every seller of an E60 Limited claims it's one of twelve. AFAICT, they are just regurgitating the old information that only 12 were built. Now that we know there are ~45 datacards with code 957+958, the question is if 30+ Limiteds were converted to E60 after delivery AND then had the datacard updated... or if the original number of 12 was only for a certain country/region... or if the number 12 was mythological.

Great catch, Greg! That could be an aftermarket / replica AMG Gen 2 bumper. OR, at least an aftermarket impact strip (which wouldn't make sense)... or, someone had the gaps filled around the filler panel? The genuine impact strip will accommodate Euro plates, or blank filler panels, or USA/Japan small plates. Photo here shows the OE impact strip with the filler panel removed.

Japan. The AMG body kit screams Japan as well. I personally like the appearance, but from a collector standpoint, I'd think that would be a real turnoff.

I am aware of the contentious issue regarding whether the "12" is mythical or actually a fact. However, I know someone who, some years ago during his travels around Europe, came across three E60s - one in Spain, one in Italy and one in Denmark.

In each case he was able to make contact with the owners, and in each case he was shown a Certificate confirming the car was one of only 12 ex-works cars built. At that time he was not aware of the arguments that would later surface regarding the claims concerning the "12", so took the certificates he was shown at face value. He now regrets not taking a photo of the paperwork!

Is there no-one out there who visits this site, who has an ex-works E60, and can post a copy of the Certificate?

Where is my silber/rot one?

I've cut the required number of lawns and delivered all the newspapers !
