Hi all, recently replaced my secondary air pump and found a stray vaccum line in both of the front fenders. Can anybody tell me where they are supposed to go and what they are for? I also have blink codes 24 and 36 showing on pin 8… can anybody tell me what they may be for ? Can’t seem to track down any exact diagnostic information for my M104.996.

It is the light regulator taken piston, there use to be a piston inside. If you hooked the trailer the light will go up. This can be set down the beam of the light with the regulator beside the light switch. This is a glycol piston given1 in cabin and taken piston each headlight for adjusting up and down of the headlights.
The regulator mostly break inside or the glycol is escaping with the time.
I just change it to the electric type because in Germany this is mandatory to pass the 2 year inspection TUV (Technical Inspection Association) otherwise no pass through.
I took this one below.

For the original one you need to pay between 300-400€.

And to install it you have to take half front of the G.

Thank you G320 Driver!
Previous owner has changed headlights as the car in now driving on the other side of the road. Makes sense why they are just hanging in the fender.

Any idea what blink codes 24 and 36 on pin 8 could be ?

Hey Roscoes,
Here some possibilities according to the fault list for M104 my 94-97

Code 8 engine idle speed contact. Throttle valve position too large.

Code 24 is O2 sensor at down stream cat signal incorrect

Code 36 injection valve cyl. 2 open circuit or short to ground

Thank you !

Not sure why 02 code is showing as I have replaced o2 sensor recently.

Have also replace upper engine harness and cleaner and tested all injectors. Really baffle as to what the issue maybe.

Could you please describe your issue again. I don’t catch it exactly what is going on. Hope you don’t have the same problem which I had some months ago. If yes there is another threads for.
