Dave - that's not nearly metro-sexual enough. You would never see a fitness model in Men's Health wearing those.

I actually own and wear nearly every day a pair of their driving shoes ... the "Boulder" model. They are on sale for $149. My only beef with them is that they are not re-craftable like most other AE shoes are (about 90% of my shoes are AE; the other 10% are Birkenstock (also 100% recraftable); K-Swiss (tennis shoes); and [recraftable] bespoke boots).

Do we know where his shoes are produced/leather sourced from?
Most all Allen-Edmonds shoes are made in Wisconsin, and are hand-made -- no automation in their shoe factory. A small minority of their shoes (including the Boulder model I have) are made in the Dominican Republic. I have several pairs of AE shoes that are 15-20 years old and have been completely recrafted a couple of times.

My Birkenstock sandals have been complete rebuilt 5-6 times over the past 17 years. I'm talking new valve guides and seals, new cylinder linings, new cork gaskets, and of course new rubber.

Cheers,
Gerry

We would expect nothing less than rebuilt shoes. At least top end rebuilds.
But hey, I see you did a complete body off restoration on your shoes!

I'm with you Gerry. I wear AEs five days a week, sometimes more. I have three pair, one of which is eleven years old and has been re-crafted three times. But I draw the line at driving shoes.
