Anyone have any experience with Griot's new Spray Wax? I'm curious what others think about it and if you can use it when you have a wax other than Griot's (like P21) on the car.

I like it. I quickly wipe the car with a griots blade, then spray that on, then wipe it off as I dry it. It puts on a decent coat, but waxing by hand of course is best, but if you dont have time and want some protection it is a good way to go.

The spray on car wash is like speed shine except much thicker. 2phast only uses the spray on car wash as a "quick detailer" type spray. We discussed it on 500ecstasy a little bit.

Any problems with using it on a car that already has a wax like P21 on it?

I use Meguiars or Eagle spray wax... it's far easier (and faster) to apply, especially after washing the car. It works pretty well, water beads nicely in the rain. None of my cars have "excellent" paint so I'm not that particular about using the absolute best stuff. Some day when I get the cars painted, that will likely change...

Shouldn't be any problems using it with P21, although you would be better off switching to the Griots wax. I use the spray on wax as well as the spray on detailer and spray on wash.

Thanks for your responses, everyone. I called Griot's to ask them what they thought. They said it wouldn't harm the car or finish in any way, but you might get streaks because the Spray wax is designed to work with Griot's waxes. Not sure how much truth there is to that, but that's what they said.

And thanks for the 15% coupon, I may give it a try just to test. But I'll test it on my Porsche to make sure it's safe. ;)

LOL, sounds good. You are welcome. I've been impressed by their stuff. I always thought it was overpriced, but after I started using it I really liked it. Also, their sprayers actually work, whereas the Meguiars ones are just total POS that break in your hands. I bought some empty bottles and "finest" sprayers from Griots to finish off some of my Meguiars stuff.

Hi Eric,

I have tried most of Griot's polish and wax products, and they all work very well. Fine hairline scratches polish out very nicely from MB paint without removing excessive amount of clear coat/paint (as with some other abrasive polishing compound products). I have not used P21 wax products so I can't really commnt on how Griot's spray wax would work with P21. When I used Griot's spray wax with Griot's wax products, it worked well. I also have used it on top of Pinnacle carnauba paste wax, and it also seemed to work very nicely. Griot's spray wax should work well with any high quality carnauba wax products such as Griot's, P21, and others, since it seems to contain lot of carnauba wax in it. At least, the whole garage smells very nice with carnauba scent after using only Griot's spray wax after car wash.

How do you like P21 products? I see the whole lineup of P21 products with high price tags in my Lexus dealer, but never tried them. I am currently happy with all Griot's products that I've used. Griot's speedshine and spray wax are very handy and easy to use for quick detailing in my opinion.

I really like the P21 car wash and the concours wax. I wanted to try the Spray wax just to see how it worked as a between "complete" wax application. Iordered a bottle last week to try it out.
