How have other folks run power (12V) to center rolltop console for cell phones etc?

All,
I just had my radio (1432) sent out to Becker to have an AUX installed, and to refurb the thing and get my amplifiers replaced. As I reinstall that, I am going to run the AUX input into the roll top arm rest thing (lockable one).

That part is all done, and works well. But I'd like to also run power to a ProClip iPhone 5 charger mounted in that box as well.

Running the wires is easy (I already did that). But my question is: Where do people pull 12V switched power from?

Is there a switched power relay in the center console under the shifter some place that would be rated enough to also handle the Cell Phone load?

In general, I hate vampire clips, and I don't like cutting existing factory wiring. So I am tempted to run a full set of wires from the trunk, with a relay and all that and jump a switch off some other place, but I thought I'd ask, to see if there was a better way.

Anyone ever added hardwire accessories in the center console area?

I think the easiest would be the 12V accessory/cigarette lighter. It would simple to build an intermediary adapter harness.

Everything in the center console is switched 12volt. The easiest would be to tap into the side mirror control, as you rarely use it. Go with a t-tap and a male spade connector, its the simplest way to tap the power without making perm mods

As a quick follow up, I wound up tapping the Cigarette lighter with vampire T-Taps, and it worked very well. :)
