Hello,

I have received the rendering from HRE for the wheels. I will include all three renders. I am currently leaning towards the darker finish, but they have 2 versions a Brushed Dark Clear and a Polished Dark Clear.

This one is Brushed Clear

This is Gloss Silver

Of course, the Dark Clear comes in versions. - There is also a Polished Dark Clear, I don't have a render but I am going to attach the color samples from HRE

I kinda like the first two. Not sure if the third one is just a hair too dark...

:seesaw:

Seeing the brushed dark clear applied to the wheels, I do like how they look. They have a bit of a menacing look to them. For these wheels, my ranking would be:
1. Brushed Dark Clear
2. Brushed Clear
3. Gloss Silver

Polished Dark Clear would look a bit too dark compared to the others, so it would be in a separate category.

It’s the Brushed Dark for me... all day long... assuming your car color is pictured.

I might actually be convinced to do Polished Dark Clear, but your car would need to stay in the detail booth to pull that off I think. True polished wheels are a full time job, I’ve learned the hard way.

maw

I like Gloss Silver then Brushed Clear

I like bling, to me the dark wheels just don’t get it.

Also the Gloss Silver is solid paint I think? It should be more durable.

Brushed Clear IMOP would eventually flake off since there is no primer.

These are outrageously expensive wheels.
I would ask HRE about the durability of each finish and what kind of warranty they give on the different finishes.

“Beauty is in the Eyes of the Beholder” Ultimately, you have to decide and live with your decision.

HRE wheel finish comes with a 2yr warranty. it doesn't matter what you choose.

HRE uses a clear powder coat on top of the brushed aluminum and it’s pretty durable. My past 546 brushed clear coated wheels saw a lot of track time (on top of daily use) and the clear coat held up quite well with no flaking. The brushed dark clear finish is the same except they finish the wheel with a tinted clear coat to give it a darker finish, while still having the raw and brushed aluminum visible.

Agree. I had 305s on my 993 and after 10 years of ownership they looked new when I sold it. Take proper care and you'll get years of smiles looking back over your shoulder at yours.

I'm bias towards color matched wheels, so brushed dark all the way.
