Leveling arm replacement ...

Hi guys
Car is at the mechanics to replace a line going to the sls leveling valve .
At the same time want to replace the little arm but it’s back order in Canada . I need to store the car for the winter , can the mechanic remove the old one and not reinstall the new one?
The old one is seized up and will install the new one in spring so the hard work of removing will be done .

In theory there should not be any issue if the link bar is removed temporarily, as long as you secure the arm on the valve so that it doesn't move up or down, triggering the car to raise or lower. The SLS will not work during this period obviously. I just replaced the lever on the swaybar, link bar and valve as part of my rear subframe project. All of the parts were available new from Germany, including the mini U bolt used to secure the lever to the sway bar.
 
I am curious about seized up. Is the nut on the valve level rusted on or the one on the control arm? You have flats on the shackle side (its just a pressed in ball joint that pops out real easy if original) to hold it still while you loosen the nut. I use the slim tool kit for this as MB tool bag to the rescue makes this jib a snap.
 
I believe you are referring to the adjustment "link" with the threaded rod. When removed, there is a small 2 or 3 mm hole on the remaining arm that lines up with a threaded hole on the sls valve body. A small screw will keep things in the proper neutral position. Member ARNT has posted pictures of this in a previous thread on the subject.
