WANTED Looking for center exhaust pieces, 93 500E

My 500E is at my indy for some general maintenace and he said my center exhaust is close to being shot. He recommended a company called Eberspracher but I am concerned with aftermarket exhaust and potentially louder exhaust noise.

Anyone have any 500E exhaust pieces available? Or, other recommendations for the center exhaust area?

Eberspaecher is the OEM that MB uses for many of its exhaust components that it sells and has sold over the years. They are of excellent / MB quality in every respect. If you can actually GET an Eberspaecher branded center resonator, that would be great. Unfortunately for the 500E, I believe that MB is the only game in town if you want original fit and finish.

Otherwise there are various other aftermarket routes you can go, such as Magnaflow, or the 5thScaleRacer exhaust that has been sold here on this forum.

Thanks Gerry. I was told that MB doesn't make the enter exhaust anymore so I am left with 3rd party options.

The center/middle muffler is just a straight-through resonator. It's often bypassed with straight pipes (aka Y-pipe) to add a little rumble with the stock muffler. Assuming this is the item in question, I'd just go with the straight pipes, assuming you have stock catalysts & mufflers. Or install the Timevalve pipe; if you don't mind the fitment issues (can't find the photos offhand, but the recess for the graphite ring is shallower than stock).

When did the middle exhaust pieces go NLA? The catalysts have been NLA for a year or two now. MB Classic does indeed show the middle muffler / resonator as NLA:

My recently acquired 92K mile 400E parts car has notably newish-looking center and rear mufflers, and exceptionally clean front pipes/cats...

I know the 2 front pieces are the same as 500E, and also know center and rear show different #s 400 vs. 500.

Actual differences?
Can 400 center and/or rear mufflers straightforwardly be used for 500?

The cats & front crossover pipe are identical between 400/500 (and E60 AMG).

The middle/rear are different but will physically bolt up. Installing a 400E muffler on a 500E will result in the outlet tips being up too high, but if needed you could try to bend the hanger ears, or worst case cut/weld the tips as needed to reposition them.

I had a new MB center section installed on my 199 500E in May, the rear section was also available at the time.
