hahahahahahah thank you all for fantastic suggestions :) The funny thing is that the car ive bought is actually "mentioned" in some of the comments :)
When it comes to the Blaupunkt Bremen review....i would recomend you to check out my video about it :tongueout:
I can put it like this....IF you want a period correct headunit for ANY 80"s and early 90"s car....the Blaupunkt Bremen SQR46 Dab unit is fantastic.!!!In every aspect....appart from it beeing made in China...jokes aside...does not make it any less of a perfect headunit for above mentioned cars :)
The fact that it is made in China does not affect its quality i think...i do tink that Blaupunkt have made this into a "prestige" product...and quality controll and build quality is higher on this Bremen unit ,than on other Blaupunkt products made in China.
Tunabillity in every aspect is perfect.Sound can be dialed in perfectly. The color of the frontpanel can be fine tuned to the exact color on the dashboard/facia lighting.
The feel of the buttons is also very nice. They feel solid, and does not "wobble" around if i can put it that way.
The dab unit is very nice also...but havent tested it out properly yet.
Bluetooth i have not tested yet.
Connectivity is great.Alot of connections in the back ,USB connector both up front and in the back.So you can hide the USB port somewhere else by using an extension cable.I am going to do this on my Ford..but have not got around to do so yet.
I have not by far a complete "guide" to every little feature on this headunit..nor tested everything...BUT
All in all ...i love this headunit to bits...its just soooo great to look at..and with it beeing so good in the techspecs also...its a win win :)
IF you are on the verge of buying one..just make sure you just go ahead and do it.You will not regret it :)

This is great news, thanks! It looks like a super quality piece. Maybe I will buy one just to save for a future car....

i love this forum, and you guys to much ,to NOT have at least a car with a m119 engine in it.I do reckon the car will be welcomed by most of you.At least i hope so..cause me personally, ive always had a soft spot for these..so i will deffo post some updates when car is here ;)

It has been been pleasure to follow your project saga! :thumbsup2:
I assume the Blackbeauty found another high class garage and dedicated owner, - and you got some compensation for you work. :) Just curious, did the car stay in Norway and what was the value of it (roughly)?

Thank you so much for kind words mister :) The car went to a good home i guess.I dont think "its the same class owner"...if i can put it that way...but i do know that he will take care of the car though. But i can say for sure that he does not have "that" much knowledge" about stuff. But he does care about the car at least..which is all that matters really :) It stays in Norway ...actually it went "back" to the part of Norway where i got it from...in a way :) I did get some compensation for all my work yes...obviously that does not count the hours put into it though. If i were to count hours...the spendings would not ad up i think as i spent around 2000 hours on the car...so you can do the math :)

Sure we all use hugh hours with our 'loves' and consume money. .. It's not hobby, if it doesn't require money...😋
Well, impossible to calculate the value of the car and how much you got... but I understand that you don't want reveal the sum.

As the new owner don't have the understand as you, s/he need to join the forum to learn. Welcome.

you are definetly right. The hobby value is not measured in hours..and i did not my any means intend to portray that :) The value of the car is hard to say yes...but i can say that i doubled the money i payed for the car.But that is a mix of me getting the car pretty cheap...and also getting the max i could expect for such a car here in Norway. At this point ,there are several for sale..and to be honest...when i was at this point even thinkin of selling it...i am glad i got it sold. But also...i do reckon my car was the one in the best condition..eventhough it had its "flaws"..but they all do in a way.
I do think the new owner is on the forum...or maybe he just mentioned it to me that he was going to join in.
Anyways..i hope you stay on my thread here..to check out more m119 stuff...obviously not super interesting if you are only into w124"s...which is of course what this forum is about..the 036"s....but i feel to incorporate our "other cars" into a allready excisting thread is ok :) i dont want to quit the forum you see :)

You're not giving us much to go on, but that's an AMG M119.980, apparently in a W210 chassis, either E50 or E60.

Please welcome.SilverWolf .😁.1997 ,w210 e50 Amg. Only 97200km.. (60k miles approx)full service history.lots of options..as Adc,factory removable tow bar.parking sensor system, burlwood armrest,++Already started to work on the car,and getting a feel for it.first thing on the list is to sort out bumpy rear end..I'm pretty sure it's the spheres that's given up.Also started to clean it up in the engine bay..and next few days will be spent under the car..cleaning the living daylights out of it 🙂🤓

you were on it for sure :)
Thank you so much :) Its great to have this in the garage..but i sure miss my 500e...but i hope i will get some joy out of this one..and not headache :) Im pretty nervous of what is waiting around the corner with the "bumpy rear end"...im really hoping its the spheres..and not the ADS playing up.Im out of diagnostic tools to help me out there at the moment.I think i will need to get a Star.

Bueno! Well Well Well People, a new chapter of googletube vids on the way!!! welcome back....
"laughs" :) yes...you are spot on :) I will for sure try to make it as "500eISH" videos as possible...but it is inevitable that it will include w210 stuff..but im really hoping that it wont be to much "resto" videos..but rather more like "I want to clean up this car to make it perfect" kinda thing :)Thank you so much by the way :)

Since this is a W210, you should start your thread in the "Project Journals" sub-forum. Looking forward to it.

Congratulations Stephan! Welcome back to the M119 club
Thank you so much my friend :) Its "stings" abit knowing its "only the 119" club....i miss my 036 when i see the raised "complexity" of this particular car.Id wish it did not have the ADS...and i cant stand the infrared immobiliser system..it just is bound to fail and make ones life miserable :) So i am hoping it will behave :)

Congrats Stephan,

I for one am happy to see you return to the board. :)That E50 looks like a great find. :thumbsup2: Doesn't look like much restoration is required with this beauty. The paint sure looks clean and bright. With only 60K miles on it you should not have a lot of problems and a lot more fun.:wahoo:

I look forward to following your new adventure.

lol

Congratulations and good luck Stefan.
Does it have code 214, 431, 345, 655, 954, 772, for sure it has 957 😀👋
thank you very much my friend :) i need the luck i reckon :) yes it has all those codes. It also has an additional AMG code..which is 774...wheelwell/fender modification for Amg wheels.I have not found out what that is yet..but either the fenders are rolled in the back..and front fenders widened...or it is something else. :)

Nice 👍 774 is Shell Modification for AMG wheels. Yes, maybe the fender wells are wider than the normal W210 Avantgarde?

i do think the front fenders looks wider in the front...even like the front portion of the front fender...and for now..i have only had a quick peek around the car...the in the rear i do see the arches are rolled inwards..maybe that can be it?

How intriguing! I have never seen an E50 in person! Lowman, I would be curious to hear your thoughts on the experience of the w210 E50AMG vs that of the w210 E55, as the first employs the M119 and the second employs the M113. Are there many E55s for sale in Morepay? They are not uncommon in the States.

Anyways it is nice to not see any stupid distributor caps/rotors/insulators!

look at the bright side, you do not have yellow headlights. LMFAO
Yeah, but he can buy brand-new OEM Hella plastic lenses for those lights. Can't buy lenses for the 036 anymore...

Congratulations on your new M119 purchase!
Your car looks great to be in great condition. How hard must it be to find a rust-free W210 in Norway?!

Is it possible that the fenders were stretched outside a bit to fit the AMG-wheels (similar than on "normal" W124s fitted with AMG-wheels from factory)?
