The entomology of Obsidian has to be cousin to Obsession! Just a stunning car under the lights, lovely! That ////AMG provides you the symmetry. Most likely the piece that makes you vomit is that badge on a pre-merger car in 1989, in gold no less. Looks grand IMO, and the next video is the exhaust setup since it is symmetrical as well?

centerlock conversion on the escort cosworth looks sick.. is that something that can be done to any car?

centerlock conversion on the escort cosworth looks sick.. is that something that can be done to any car?

hey man
thank you so much :)
Yes it could be done on any car...took quite abit of measuring and stuff...to get the right measures...and i got the hubs designed and machined in the uk...and the fit was just spot on when fitted.so im glad it worked out very well :)

They were made of proper aeroplane type aluminum...cant remember the spex of it at the moment..but it was the strongest aluminium available.Would have wanted them machined in steel..but the company that made them for me..did not have the tooling for steel lathing at the time i had them made.but the aluminum was certified for the use i intended.

cheers :)

Wow so it was proper one-off custom job. I initially thought it was a kit meant for another car that was "customized" to be used in your escort cosworth. Props to you for pulling that off! Must not have been easy.

If I had the money, I'd love to do it on a 500 as well to pull off the dtm look of the 190e. There are obviously compomotive wheels with a similar design with a traditional 5-lug but the center lock wheels just look so good.

thank you so much.Apreaciate your words about the escort.that car "meant" much to me as alot of work went into it..so cool to get feedback on it :9

Yeah centerlocks are awesome.and on my other car..i have the OZ replica "compomotive" rims.i was abit involved in the "pushing" those wheels at compomotive for about 9 years ago..in the Ford scene .so im pretty happy i have a set now on my Ford Focus Rs..as i have always loved that design.

oohhh the 190e Evos are just awesome.but they are ridicously expensive ..theyve risen in value like no other car from that era and "style"...
i have two friends that have one each...they been built to be Evos" ..originally 2.5 16 cars...but totally rebuilt to Evo1 spec and looks..and they are just awesome..and i maybe have a first dibs on one of those cars..so maybe i end up with one in a while :)

Hey people
Was at my buddies work here the other day.He works at the local Bmw dealership..where i actually met him when i worked there back in 2004 and 2005..and have known him since. He phoned me and told me he had something to give me..and i went out quite excited..and boy was i surprised. He actually got me a 1(18 scale model car of the e500 Limited. (though in the "wrong" color...but boy it was a nice thing to do.awesome friend.

12.jpg

And i used the opportunity to take some photos of my car aswell..as the lighting in there was awesome..and shiny floor :)which made a great place for taking some photos.

My friend in the red circle :)

You are fixing/improving things on my car that I wouldn't ever think of! It's making me feel very lazy. I almost feel guilty that I'm not showing my car the same kind of attention...

no need to feel in that way mister..we all have our own way of keepin our cars "up there".i just have ann OCD when it comes to small details and ...i also enjoy replacing stuff that seems to "need" upgrading :)
cheers for looking :) By the way...im located in Stavanger...thats 6 hours from bergen...and 8-9 hours from "Oslo" :)

Nice upgrade again, did't you consider LED bulbs?

thanx man.Well...actually i didnt consider led bulbs....as i think they are TOOOO bright..its to much at the end of the brightness scale....but i can tell ya that it reaaally helped.
But what i think i may do..is to give the bulbs just a thin coat of clear blue ...and that will make the light even more white than it is at the moment...so im gonna try that out :)

a little fresh video on HOW TO adjust your trunk lid :)
at least a video on how i adjusted mine...as it was abit out of place :)sorted out now though :)

I'm wondering what the idea was behind your exhaust, since your obviously a sucker (in a good way) for originality....and to me the only thing that seems a little out of place is the twin pipes

hey dude:)

Well..first i can tell you that i didnt put on that twin exhaust myself..and that is an answer good enough i guess:)

it was on the car when it came from sweden,.
so i just havent had the time or money,or the need to do anything about it,as i really like it,but i also dislike it..or..i can enjoy an original back box too..

but it is on my list...as there is some info about that in my next video:)
When it comes to originality...yes i am..but still my car aint original though ,so my main goal is not to keep it like bone stock or original,,when it comes to engine bay,and stuff yes then it has to be original i think.
But some performance parts here and there, and the outside may be "not" original" :)but i find out stuff as i go what is needed:)
thanx for looking dude :)

hey there
I keep on posting even if there is no feedback at all.
But i guess some of you follow what i do..so here it is.

This one is a short video of some "detailing" work on the rust repair.

hey there
The rust repair on my car is done.I have done a video..but ill post some pictures of the process..and maybe postup the vid later

First ,what it started with...a tiny rust spot which lead to me grinding away all the rust.
57.jpg

Making the new "panel" on the right hand side..as i do not have pictures of every step.
The welds came out better than seen here..this is in the process.and it is fully seam welded.

58.jpg

Grinded the welds down..put some welding primer on.

59.jpg

60.jpg

Coat of hammerite paint to seal it off.

61.jpg

62.jpg

Body sealant last coat.

63.jpg

How it looked inside after putting body sealant on where the fresh panel is..to seal it properly

64.jpg

As i am a nerd.i have to have the body seal look factory..so i made an effort to blend it in with two layers of paint..one layer of gold..and one with body color...
Worked out pretty good i think.
65.jpg

Final coat of "black" on top of the gold..to finish it off
66.jpg

67.jpg

Had to freshen up the fuel pump undertray
Even found a production date stamp on it :)
68.jpg

69.jpg

70.jpg

Put final layer of undercoat on the repair.

71.jpg

72.jpg

And last but not least...put undercoating under the whole car...do not have a before shot of totally before..but you can see the "sand"ish" color in the spare wheel well...the whole car was like that before i treated it

73.jpg

74.jpg

75.jpg

Thanx for looking :)

Since you live in a corrosive environment, also check the front mounting brackets of the rear axle subframe carefully. Also in the rear inner side wheel arches around the rubber grommets. My car only had it around these luckily.

Quite funny ,as there will be some updates on this in not very long :)thanx for comment ,rouven

lowman,

You do nice work. The Northern Europe weather has to be a tough environment for your cars to live in. I think it's great that you keep after it. Your car pics & videos are appreciated.

At this time of the year do you put your baby to bed and switch over to a sled w/ reindeer?

Take Care

thanx mate,,and a merryyy mercmas to you toooo :)

Ive been working on my car evey day now in the holidays..and posting some results pretty soon :)Even though its not done yet..as i have to order the body grommets New...the rust is gone and repaired..so im pretty stoked :)

By the way,,,did you see the reindeeeers at Your Place...or?

Not many reindeer in SoCal but I think they were in the neighborhood but I was out for the evening.

I'll have to go up on the roof and check for sled tracks and hoof prints but it's to cold right now a bone
chilling 45 degrees F ⛄️ and the sun ☀️ is to bright out right now. Maybe later? Yuk, Yuk

Well...here is some updates :)
Ive repaired the rust in the rear wheel wells...where the w124"s tend to rust. You may have seen it if you have a european version.as they tend to be driven in harsher weather ,,salt and so on.
But here it is.I was only about to do the two holes that i was shure about it beeing rusty....but i decided to do the whole wells..and do it proper.
Here is how it looked..i do not have pics of every thing ive done..but at least you get an idea how it turned out, even though its not done...as i have to order the new rubber and plastic grommets.

106.jpg

Started to grind away on the left hand side
107.jpg

Grinded away on the right hand side
108.jpg

All but one grommet:)there is 14 in total.6 rubber ones..and the rest plastic
109.jpg

Some of the stuff needed for proper repair
110.jpg

Masked off
111.jpg

New panels beeing glued on,using body glue..a 2K body glue which is tough as nails..and providing both a good seal and prevents also the bare metal from rusting..so in this case..its much better to glue it on..than welding..as the weld will rust alot easier..and i also think that gluing the new panel on is also more appropriate as the plugs were never welded either :)
Sanded down the first layer of body glue
112.jpg

113.jpg

Next layer of body glue..to make it even more smooth
114.jpg

115.jpg

116.jpg

Finally a coat of primer..and sanded it down as good as i can

117.jpg

118.jpg

And i final coat of 2K Epoxy primer.Ready to put the new plugs back in, and the new panels have been smoothed out..and of course some more body sealant around the plug holes..aaaaand im also doing the wheel arches..as they are prone to collect alot of dustbuild up..so i have taken care of those too..and i am going to fill them abit more with body seal..so the cavities isnt as big as they are original.

119.jpg

120.jpg

So at this stage, even though im not done with the wheel arches..im only waiting for the grommets.....and im really wondering if im going to paint the wheel wells..or put undercoating on them...and im even considering doing the undercoating in white..as i kinda liked when the wheel wells were that whitish color..reminds me abit of how fighter jets are painted..which again is inspired by nature...and how for an example SHARKS are in their natural color....white underneath as when underneath them,,they are supposed to blend in...oh shit..now im getting nerdy..Sorry :)

Thanx for looking :)

Looking good! Love the gold fasteners. It's like knowing your wife/gf is sporting a little something special beneath her tight skirt.
