Hi all,

Per the attached video, my ‘94 W140 S500 is having this knocking noise that is only present on one side of the engine. Is this normal?

The engine has just been completely overhauled with new piston rings, and one of the cylinders was re-sleeved. Thanks for the help.

Also, don’t know if related or not, but oil pressure is close to 0 when idling
Is the pressure sending unit (located below the oil filter housing) old or original? If so, replace it with new OE/OEM VDO. Old sending units can read lower than actual pressure. If you can verify the oil pressure really is that low at idle, something else is wrong. Normal oil pressure is above 1.0 bar at full operating temp.
