Noise knocking m119

Need your advise, what is the source of the noise?

Noise
Its been said before you need to carry out:

Endoscope bores
Compression test
Leak down test

Report back. Anything else is a total guess and waste of time get the above carried out then you will have an idea if there is internal engine knock or mechanical damage.

Well. The noise was due popped up oiler tube on cylinder no 5…. Done
Wha...? The metal tubes are physically locked down by the cam bearing towers. How did one come loose?

The noise sounded very different than the usual lifter tick though. Bizarre.

Yes this is strange but glad he found the cause in the end. Tabs must have got broken on the metal oiler tubes. (Perhaps by using the cam caps to push them home which is not correct practice)

The oiler tubes can be popped up . The caps dont lock them tightly.

Any way I will replace all o ring. I think that it can help to lock the oiler tubes. I have some clips that show oil leak from the mentioned oiler tube

I belive what sir Gixer means is that there are ears on the metal oiler tubes. The cam caps have lugs which then physically trap the oiler tubes in place.

If the installation is correct, O rings in good condition and not damaged there should NOT be a leak or issue. The plastic ones tended to age harden and break hence the issue but it is unheard of for metal oiler tubes to fail like this....

There is a few mm tollerence to allow for thermal expansion etc but this does not present any issue for normal installations with good O Rings.

I think you may have pinched or split O ring(s) or fractured an oiler tube or 2.
