Weak acceleration

Good news…great news.
I went back and took the Bowden cable socket ball off cause I realized it was dry and I greased it as @gsxr suggested.

The cable was never disconnected or anything… I guess it just wasn’t lubricated enough to pull enough.
Bad news… my check engine came on 🤣
But I think that’s because I drove with the maf disconnected yesterday. Waiting on my pin reader to arrive.

Gotta say, not a bad 0-60 for a 93
 
That might be great news. How much did you tighten it? I gave you a test of 1/2" to start, just to see if that was in fact the issue. From there, 1/8" increments should help you "dial it in" (as I'm sure you've read already). I like slightly higher RPM shifts so I have mine set that way.

Believe it or not, no adjusting. ALL I did was greased the ball socket. I didn’t touch the Bowden cable adjustment rod. I adjusted (slightly) the accelerator cable but that didn’t do anything. It was the magical ✨grease✨
 
Wow! Hey, you are back to normal now. Apply the grease should have had zero effect on your problem. I'm suspicious that something in the valvebody or transmission was sticking, and finally broke free, and operation has returned to normal. Either way, this is great news - hopefully it stays fixed!

Interesting… as you saw in the video I kept pulling on the Bowden cable and releasing it. Maybe that’s what broke it free. I don’t know if I mentioned but the guy I bought it from had it stored for a while, so maybe something was sticking.
Either way, it feels good to fix something for $free.99 than $1500+ 😁.
Now let’s hope the check engine was from the maf disconnection. It’s driving smooth and powerful now 👊
 
You can view the fault code causing the CEL by using the built-in LED and button that is present next to the CAN box. Use the 500E code document, the DM (CEL) codes should be the same for the R129.

FYI - disconnecting the battery won't clear fault codes from the powertrain modules (LH, EZL, E-GAS, ASR, etc). I forget if disconnecting the battery will clear the DM codes and turn off the CEL though.

Voltage at mass air sensor too high/low
27 blinks:
Engine coolant temperature sensor deviation between sensor circuit 1and sensor circuit 2

Yes, it's normal to have all the empty holes. They are for systems not present on your car.

Car still operating nice and strong. Tons of power. No warning lights.
I just did a smoke test for vacuum leaks and there was smoke coming out of the maf sensor .
@gsxr is that normal to get smoke from that area, or are the gaskets shot? Thanks.

Yes, that's normal... during a smoke test you should seal off the MAF to force smoke out of other areas with smaller leaks. Otherwise you'll just get smoke out the MAF and you won't know if there are other leaks.
