M119 revs hunting only when warm (CIS-E M119.960)

Bought a R129 year 1991 SL500 with just 24K miles on the clock, the car starts first time and works fine including idling ok on around 700 but when the engine is warm and i put it on Park the engine revs to 1000 to 1200, basically the rev needle will play up and down between the 2. Can someone give me some idea what this can be please
 
You have a CIS-powered car, not the LH-powered version of the M119 that this forum mainly covers (This is the 500Eboard, not the M119board). Thus the thread needs to be moved to Off-Topic Discussions.

You need to get a smoke test done on your car to see where the vacuum leak is coming from -- likely the intake manifold somewhere.
