Need part no. for combination/turn signal switch 92 500E

Can’t seem to find this part no. in the EPC. Number on old unit is 1245450424. Is this still valid? I do have a new unit with part no. 1245401045 but it is missing the horn contacts. Would a new unit for a 1992 come with the horn contacts or is there a way of swapping the contacts from the old over to the new unit?

1245450424 is in the EPC for other chassis, but not the 036. Appears to be for early-build 124's only. Could be either there's a supercession not showing in the EPC for the 036, or your combo switch was replaced in the past with a "wrong" one.

EPC shows A1245401045 as correct for a 1992 500E.

The horn contacts (2 brushes) in the steering column DO NOT come with the switch, those are separate. I can't seem to locate them in the EPC. You should be able to swap them over.

Thanks Dave. I was suspecting the horn contacts had to be swapped over. Problem is I’m not able to remove them from the old unit. Any suggestions?

I've never done this before. Can you tell from the new switch, which direction they should press, in or out?

In the EPC diagram above, horn contact is callout #125, part number A1264641043. Grab the white part with some needle nose pliers and give it a firm tug, it'll pop right out.

Thank you very much for that useful information 👍🏻. I just ordered the horn contacts at the local dealer, delivery time 2-3 days.
