NEEZ Euro-Six Wheel Availability - Q1/2021 (Updated since Q1/2017)

I wanted to explore the possibility of buying a spare wheel for my car, which currently has NEEZ Euro Six in sizes

F: 18x9.0 ET+26
R: 18x9.5 ET+28

mounted on it. Unfortunately, NEEZ no longer makes the Euro-Six in this exact size, although they do make them in a slightly different size now with a forging that also requires the use of 60 degree cone seat lug bolts. I promised Yoshihara-san that I would share pricing with this board, so here it is. It is not for the faint of heart (wowza!), but hey, the wheels indeed are beautiful.

Size: 18x8.5 ET+23 front 18x9.5 ET+25 rear
Color: hair line polish

PRICE
18x8.5J&18X9.5J Each2 Total-4:
YEN 423000 tax included & Not Bolt ---> Note as of 2017-2-17 @ this is USD 3,748.90
YEN 440000 tax included & Bolt included

Shipping fee to California
18x8.5J&18X9.5J Each2 Total4:\65000 tax included
customs procedures: yourself

Delivery date: 1~4 week After payment is confirmed for Current delivery date

Good to know that this wheel style is still available if someone really wants it. (I ended up using a $120 R129 wheel as a spare wheel instead)
Yoshihara-san's email is info@neez-one.com

...remove shoes... carry the three... if my maths are correct, that's ~488,000 yen for a set of 4 without bolts, including delivery to USA (CA), which is ~$4325 USD at current exchange rates.

Does anyone have accurate weight info on these? The $4k pricetag would be sliiightly easier to justify if they were flyweights.

I did not think about asking about weights, but I bet if you drop Yoshihara-san an email he will be glad to discuss weights with you .

Unfortunately I never weighed the wheels before mounting tires on them. However, I had the NEEZ wheels off the car the same weekend I was doing a brake pad swap on my other toy and I can tell you -

Subjectively, a NEEZ 18x9.5 wheel with a Bridgestone 275/35/18 tire feels quite a bit lighter ... several pounds lighter .... than a Tramont 18x10 wheel with a Bridgestone 265/35/18 tire.

The tire was the same model, same inner diameter, and same aspect ratio ... just 10mm diff section width.

Jlaa, any chance you have a good digital scale to get a weight of the NEEZ with tire mounted? Would need to be a scale accurate to better than 1 pound... not sure if you have anything like that handy.

:apl:

I have a digital bathroom scale that goes to 0.5 lbs resolution. I use the scale when I want to be upset with myself. :-) :-). Let me find some time over this spring/summer and eat salad for a while, and I promise I will use it to weigh the wheel+tire combo.

When I had ENI Motorsport in Connecticut do the PPI for the car last fall, Craig Cook, one of the proprietors, did mention to me as well that he had the tire/wheel off the car and was surprised himself at how light the assembly was. I know he is thinking about a set himself..... he has an SEC while his business partner Gary has a 500E.

Are 18" Neez in demand?
I wonder if these wheels are a candidate for replicas?
I am searching for a set of 18" Neez myself.
I wouldn't mind replicas, as these wheels do not have a visible emblem such as AMG.

Steve,
Neez Euro Six ARE 18" replicas of the 17" EvoII wheel. They are made in Japan and still available (at substantial cost.)

These come up for sale on Japanese auction sites all the time and I have bid on a couple sets. Each time it seemed like I was going to get a good deal the aution was pulled. They are sweet wheels but $4k to $5k is bit rich for me.

I just want to update everyone ---

As of Q1/2021 these are still available. I just bought a set as spares. The contact is different than it was in 2017.

Contact: Yoshikazu Ino

NEEZ Nagoya

NEEZ Nagoya is super super SUPER SUPER friendly and patient. A+++++++ customer service.
I cannot recommend Yoshikazu Ino highly enough..... particularly given the transaction was all over email, and that I don't speak Japanese and he doesn't speak English. Google Translate to the rescue.

All in, including shipping to myself in the USA and lug bolts, I paid ~$3,700. The dollar is not weak right now.

I *really* want to grab these, then redo my lowers in 199 instead of Alto Grey. A few small changes and I'd be really cooking w gas. Once the fairer sex sees my air intake tubes, no stopping me.

Those tramont wheels are gorgeous - look like nice cup RS. Is your car aventurine green?

Hah yes aventurine green - thank you. I wish more people in the States would buy these Neez wheels.

A set of new silver non-high-polish EVO wheels from Classic Center is 2000+ shipping .... lets say that’s USD2500 all in. At that price, a set of 18” high polish NEEZ is only 50% more.

A set of NEEZ =
- A set of NLA 500E Headlamps + turn signals
- 6 silver painted EVO 17" wheels
- An exhaust + catalyst + front section from Leistung .....

These seem like v high quality wheels. Any word on
1. How long they'll remain in production? Not sure I can pony up now, but would like to in the future if a few other things fall into place.
2. How is the ride quality with the 275/35/18? That's a pretty low profile tire on a fairly large wheel, although it is quite light so I'd hope it doesn't clomp too much and you don't lose too much of the ride quality of these cars that I love.

For #1, its kinda like asking how long is a piece of string 🥺
For #2, I've never ridden in a stock 500E --- only my own --- but I can state that ride quality is one of the qualities I love about my 500E --- and it runs on the 18" Neez with Bridgestone Pole Position S04s.... (275/35/18 in the rear) .... and I drive probably many of the same streets that you do.

I found the weight here:

10.2kg (22.49lbs) for the rear 9.5" wheels and 10.0kg (22.05lbs) for the front 9.0" wheels.

@gsxr - I weighed 2 bare wheels I just got back from refinishing (minor scratches in the machined face). On my digital but probably not very accurate bathroom scale, I got 21.5 lbs for the 9.5” wheel and 21.5 lbs again (that’s right) for the 9.0” wheel. So, NEEZ’s published figures seem about right.

All they need to do is stand up an English version of their site and their sales would triple. Sure, we “can” do that work but as sellers they “should” do that work. I’m constitutionally prohibited from doing that much work to spend money.

To be clear, $4k for wheels is out of budget for me right now. But an easy process could catch me at the right time.

just FYI

This particular set (note the offset differences with the set for which I posted photos of the specs above) used special NEEZ bolts that have a ball seat R14 and a M12 shank. Please make sure if you buy this set, that you get the bolts too, or you can order new bolts from NEEZ. The new [i.e., current production] sets from NEEZ use cone seats.
