I had a question about the oiltubes in the cilinderheads of my 500E from July 1992.
Are they from metal or rubber ? I have red something about it on a MB-site that the 500E's of 1992 only have the metal ones, but I do not know for sure.
You can tell this by looking into the top of the engine through the oil filler cap hole. You should one or two see black plastic tubes, or metal tubes. Get a flashlight to assist with this.
Given the date of your car, I am almost positive it would have the metal tubes.
Yes, the metal ones need no attention. When looking with the flashlight, the black tubes will have rounded ends, whereas the metal ones visually will be more squarish on the ends.
