500E day time running lights how do I switch it off?

Does anyone know how to make the daytime running lights switch off which I think is for Canada? My 500e lights come on as soon as I start the car. I would like to switch that function off so my lights do not come on until I switch them on using the light switch.

I have seen JDM imports into Canada having retrofitted DRL's to comply with Canadian laws. Since most of these are aftermarket, I would assume they use a relay configuration interfaced with main power from the ignition switch. I would start by looking for any out of play wiring and/or relay banks that might be under the hood. Look at your DRL's and see if you can see what rewiring was done and trace it, it should lead back to a relay.

When I had this done I think something underneath the carpet in the passenger footwell had to be disconnected, but it’s been so long that I don’t recall the details
