Attached are some of the pics of the 1995 E420 I purchased from BC last month. I had imported a 1995 E320 last summer (same exterior color) and this is an addition to the fleet (first vehicle is 2004 Cayenne Turbo).

The import process was pretty straightforward. Replacing a MAF to pass WA emissions took some time but it is all good and fully legit.

Car comes equipped with rear sunshade, ASR, heated seats, rear reading lamps and 6 disc changer. It came with the cell phone which has become a souvenir for my kid :) And, only 180K kilometers.

Re: owner thread with pics

Looks like a nice clean car! Since you must be in WA, I have a 1994 E420 parts car the same color if there's anything you're looking for.

Re: owner thread with pics

Congrats. BC is a great, and under appreciated, place to get older cars. People assume that because it's in Canada, there will be a lot of snow so rust. But Vancouver and Victoria don't get much snow. And it's so cloudy that you don't have the sun-baked paint that you can get in some parts of the US. Add to that the USD - CAD exchange rate and there are great deals to be had. I'm originally from Vancouver and occasionally check for cars there just in case there is a deal I can't refuse.

Re: owner thread with pics

Ha, you just left a secret out :) I have found few bargains there.
Plus, many people have the misconception that only 25 year old cars can be imported into the US.

Cars originally sold outside of North America cannot be affordably imported to USA until they are 25 years old. Sure, it's possible, but the cost may exceed the car's value (IIRC, the rough cost is ~$10k?)

Cars originally sold in Canada, with North American emissions and VIN format, are much easier to import to USA and the 25-year limit does not apply. This is why the BC E420 was importable with minimal hassle.

Looks nice, congrats on the score!

So far the car is running strong; rear roller shades worked well in summer and heated heats are nice on cold mornings. With rainy season back in Seattle, I have been testing ASR under various conditions and really like how well it handles on wet slippery surfaces (I have the same year E320 without ASR for comparison)
May be feeling bit overconfident, I took a sharp left turn from highway off-ramp to the street road while accelerating...let's just say, without ASR, the rear would have slipped out.
