OZ wheel fastner tool

I'm looking for some help from any of our German speaking members. I would like to purchase a tool/bit for driving the fastners used by OZ wheels on their Opera II series. If anyone has or knows where I can get one here in the states I would appreciate a push in the right direction. I have been told they are available on German Ebay for about $120.00 and would be grateful for any help in getting one to me. The tool is a 10 spline 8 (?)mm bit and apparently OZ will not sell them. Here is a picture of the fastner.
As you can see by previous refinishers handywork using the wrong tool is a bad idea.

I'm not entirely surprised you have one, Jeff. I may refinish the wheels myself which could take a while. I'll check the details (shipping/Euro conversion) closer tomorrow and probably order one. A big thanks for the offer. I may take you up on it.

Drew,

Just a side note - you may be aware of it already, but if you have or plan to get the 17" AMG/OZ wheels, you have to buy two tools to open the bolts. The bolt head has 10pt size 8, and the nut has 10pt size 10. Both sockets are on top of this list:

I tried to get these tools from the OZ/BBS dealer here in Norway, but they refused to sell it due to "safety reasons" (..read product rights). So I bought them from the vendor above, plus a bottle of rim sealant and bolt lock glue. The quality is great!

Cheers :checkeredflag:

Drew

I have the socket. I can let you borrow should you need.

Jeff

As always Jeff is here to offer help and advise, his response was faster than mine. I also have the OZ Tool (socket) and will be more than happy to let you borrow it anytime for your restoration project.

Arnt: My original search took me to a Audi? forum where I read that OZ would not sell the tool for "safety"reasons. Your experience has confirmed that. I also read that OZ had closed down their North American office in Miami a number of years ago. The wheels I have are 18 inch OZ Opera 2pc., not the holy grail AMG 17 inch. No nuts are used. Very pleased these people are manufacturing them and surprised members here have them.

Ernesto: I didn't have time to look into it today. Thank you kindly for your offer. Great folks here.

I've got a set also if you're looking to our purchase at a discount. Never got to use them. 10mm 10pt and 8mm 10pt.

Though yours look to need an external drive bit, not sockets like most of the oz hardware I've seen

Hi Gents,
Reviving an old one. Just picked up a set of Opera 2's that need refinishing and I'm searching for the the same tool. I've looked in the usual places but no luck. Any suggestions?

I was able to obtain one from a German tool company. I don't recall the name, sorry...

I'll do some additional searching.

edit. I now see after searching that the old links don't provide help.

The special rim bolt tools should be available from Pertsch & Partner in Germany. Their website is not fully logical, you have to go to the Shop in the menu bar:

With your help the first time around, this is where I was able to obtain one, Arnt. The tools heading no longer brings anything up. Maybe someone that speaks German can make a call. This was how I ordered mine.

A search of "8mm 10-point wheel tool" brings up some info. I can't tell if the tools shown are correct though.

Thank you. I have reached out to P&P. I see a note on the item I'm looking for that says 50pc minimum. Hoping to get some positive news from them

I can't believe the 50pcs minimum quantity is correct, it gives an order at no less than 7.080 Euro!! Nobody place that order. That Decagon tool linked up by Drew appears to be the same. Cool name BTW pointing at the tool design, Deca means 10.

Hi, I realize a lot of this thread is old. I need that 8mm 10 pt tool for my two-piece OZ Operas. I’ve tried that P&P Partner in Germany but get no response. Can’t tell if they are still in business, just ignoring me, or even have that correct tool. Anyone here still have one i could borrow or have any other suggestions? TIA

Have you tried getting someone German speaking to help? This is how I was successful, as mentioned.

No. I didn’t see that post, and didn’t think of that. That might do it. I’ll try getting hold of a German speaker. Thanks
