Pick N Pulls- how much do you spend ussually $$?

<SNIP> I KNOW what a killing they are making! They don't pay squat for the cars, they don't pay their employees squat, it's no wonder big conglomerates are swooping in and gobbling these cash cows up all across the country! Now I'm paying through the nose for stuff that I used to practically give away! I just hate it! I resent the Hell out of it!<SNIP>

Regards,
Eric

LQK has been buying up lots of yards in the last 5-years, especially specialty yards here in the SouthEast USA.

Potomac German Auto in St. Augustine, FL, use to be friendly and would support my habit for scrounging parts, but alas no more.

:-( neil

BTW: I love that song . . .

That's the same outfit that bought the two yards (as well as others) that I used to frequent the most.

Regards,
Eric

LKQ is also the outfit that owns the yard that skimmed my credit & debit cards.

Eric, they've bought all 3! San Bernardino, riverside and ontario. They already owned Stanton and buena park.

<SNIP> It is also a form of salvation, for if the “junque” were to be left behind, it would be wasted, destroyed & lost forever thru the heinous Crusher…unresolved demand for the item the “junque” would have satisfied only creates more Systemic waste of precious resources that could otherwise be spent elsewhere to better humanity.

In essence, a Junkyard Dog is helping the World.

I found a W124 400E at a local pick-n-pull, and I was ready to purchase all the electronic modules, until the counter guy said, oh, and well need your cores, or $70/module. I said I was using them to swap them out and test, so he just threw all the modules into a wheel-barrow with a bunch of other parts to be sent to the crusher.

They could have received $200, but they got nothing for their greed . . .

:-( neil

I know. I just said "two" because I never went to the San Berdo yard that much, even though I know they often times have neat stuff. I just can't stand the traffic in that direction! I used to frequent that Stanton yard back when I was younger than you are now! Ancient times!

I'm pretty much fed up with ALL yards! After I relocate, I'm buying a parts car! That's why I revealed the skinny on my secret tool box!

Regards,
Eric

Idiots. Absolute idiots.

That kind of crap happened to me one too many times. That is exactly why I built my toolbox. I just got fed up!

I agree that the core charge on modules is a scam and a way to get more $ per item. I will say that I pay for all that I take, but am not shy about refusing an item. And I do wince when I know that item will go into the trash.
