Kollegas....
I found only 2 Threads about this subject here....
Questions are- were PF offered as an option? When ( what period- pre- or facelift only etc)? How much did they cost when new?
Thanks in advance.

I have also not much info about them. Never saw them as an option in the price list and only heard that they came on some early cars. Never found clear info.

I believe it was only as a spare part, yes

My friend Marc van de Velde (who owns the large MB wrecking yard in Lokeren Belgium) has I believe at least two sets of these plastic fenders. I have photos of them from many years ago. I can post the photos.

you should call him and ask him about them. He can tell you everything you need to know.

These guys are really terrible to deal with, once we ordered a transmission for an E500, when the guy went to pick it up they said they thought it was there but it turns out to be already gone.
Plus the they barely respond to E-mails.

my experience:

This is the set I have in the parts bin for years now.

I'm interested to know what the advantages of "plastic" fenders might be?

Is it mainly weight saving? Obviously, the dreaded rust bug would not be a problem, but what if a fender gets damaged? Are they easily repairable - are there guys out there who can repair "plastic"? (I'm assuming here that the fenders are actually plastic, and not may fibreglass, which of course, can be repaired within reason).

Generally, a metal fender can always be repaired (unless totally crumpled!), incl. cutting in new pieces of metal. I guess you can't do that with a "plastic" fender?

PF, never thought of that short form before.... So (once installed), they will become a super duper neodynium chick magnet in my case at least - how or why you may ask?
Well, my car carries the PF in the licence plate so it's a decent finger point to the armour(panty) piercing bullets in the magazine of course only valid when the PF plate is afixed on a E500E. Just have to spread the word now....

You call it dream, I call it the universal formula of ultimate chick magnetism (in combination with the head light wiper panel air intake mod). Joke aside, the photos of your car with the rials a few years ago gave me the final kick to get these wheels...
