Reinstalling Becker Mexico 2000

Hi Everyone,

This might already be on the forum, if so just post a link please.

1992 500E came with factory with a Becker Mexico 2000, previous owner installed a JVC (DIN) Headunit, I need to reinstall the original unit again.

Already got everything in the trunk rewired, but what's left is figuring out where the speaker wires connect to! I found both front and rear speakers wiring harnesses are behind the head unit, connectors are cut off, but what did they connect to ?

Thanks

Still puzzled about the radio wiring. If anyone has experience in this or a wiring diagram for the 1991-1992 Non-Bose radio and speakers system that would be great.

Yes I figured it out myself, it turns out the speaker wires are connected to the Fader and not to the radio it self, JVC installer kindly cut off the plug connectors on both sides so that's why I could not determine which wire goes where. I reconnected the wired with auto radio connectors and everything worked well.
It was just a dirty Fader causing the speakers to cut out... PO spent 990.- Euros to install JVC radio and speakers because the workshop told him its a bad radio and speakers.

Yes, that central fader dial-wheel in the center console is often the root of a lot of problems, including scratchiness and cutouts at various speakers. Cleaning it with electrical contact cleaner or deoxit goes a long way toward solving these issues. I believe these fader wheels are still available from MB, and are not hugely expensive last time I checked. My 1989 560SEC has one and I have cleaned it several times over the years ... and have a few spares if needed too.
