Hi Gents,

Nothing new to report, just sharing a thought,

if you have a w124 E500E and you love that E60, probably best to just send your car to Renntech for their 6.0L conversion!

It also seems to bring up the value or your car too as a SIDE BENEFIT.

Renntech 6.0L conversion actually seems even better than the E60 AMG. Higher performance overall !!

You get the following:

1. 6.0L engine
2. beefed up 722.3 tranmission
3. LSD rear diff

all pretty cool stuff and total cost of your E500E with Renntech 6.0L is still less money overall than hunting down and buying a real E60.

i agree, but what are the cost of refresh ex new built a complet engine??more or less 35?
you deliverie a car and Renntech do this complet.I think thats cost mor near 50
With all new Parts. The Crank? i know one only one in new.The Rest are used .Piston.The last price for a AMG Piston
was 1000 Euro and was in 2012 or so .It is a neverending running gag.For cheap is nothing in common with 6,0L
Renntech VBäth Amg Lorinser etc.
And the old Bunnys are most of them out of Order.
For years i haved Balancing and Crank for this .only this was 750.Today new Price Range is near over 1000.The Reason
tha war brings the cost bla bla
All steps are you doing everytime 1000 plus 1000 plus plus .

I get your point but obviously if the $$$$ budget gets too crazy exorbitant, then you can make the decision not to do it.

But I am thinking even at $40 to 50k total cost, its still worth it to change your own e500e into a renntech 6.0L with LSD.

no no i mean not that this is to expencive.I want tell clear that such operation is not ready for 10 or 15 .
I think the realistic for a New rebuilt not refresh engines was landing appr 20-25.
and i forgot some things arround the Enginebay.
And yes sure an 6,0 is not the holy grail but an very very nice Car (Geile Karre) Ossom car.
Do this :very_drunk:

I would love to do that to my car but I don’t have money to BURN! :hot:

Plus I would have to sleep with one eye open due to a pissed off wife.:fun:

Maybe we all of the World have the same Problems.Brother in Arms.
But is not burning money. Its mor safe the Money .The value of the car is ricing.
its a normal Cain of reasoning.Tell your wife or... no drugs no alc no smoking .......
no sitting in Bars or Clubs.Only she you and the 6,0Liter German Big Block your second Love.
The first are you..Maybee its works.
My Wife accept this not all but often. So i have not much time and Money too bild Shit .No Hold me my
Beer il be back in 5 min.Later on the Day came back with Dirt and Police.
And so i m sitting in a garage and she mean she has the control :jono: .
But she has no control. first and major tell no no no time the real Price or coost.
max 30% and all of them is fine.
haved a Nice Day Gents and Start your Engines

anyone that's in the market for an E60 wants the AMG... I and many others, would definately be happy w/ a 6.0 and i've actually gone down the rabbit hole with chasing a 6.0 engine as a couple of members know. just look at my bid histoy on bat on how creative i was thinking about sourcing one

while I like RennTech, 35k is just the starting price that it will be a 50k'ish project. I've moved on from the chase but I'm working on something else with the car, idk how long that project will take but it will be a forever car once I'm done with it (hint 6.208)

True but a 6.0L renntech is a very close 2nd place. 35k to 50k is worth it in my book.

The performance of either engine should be similar enough that you couldn't tell a difference from the driver seat. Now that genuine AMG 6L cars are priced to the moon, the RENNtech option is far more attractive, and affordable.
exactly @gsxr
If you got a clean good condition or mint E500E.with decent mileage, you turn it into a renntech 6.0L, your E500E is worth $100k USD.

sure in 5 - 7 years and a stronger market, you'll be net neutral... it's still at minimum a 45k investment.

i know the majority of long term owners here have at least that in their cars

its a forever car now...
actually I think if your good condition e500e is valued at $40K+ usd. You drop $50k at Renntech to make it official Renntech w124 e500e 6.0L, I think 5 years later or so someone will buy it for over $100k. pretty good for car economics.

in theory and as a die hard enthusiast's doing boy math... yes! I believe our cars are niche enough that you would get close to what you put into it, I've seen a few cases where new owners coming from modern, high hp cars find the driving experience lacking for them.

a 6.0 will fill that void
