The seat base rail covers are not easy to pick from the EPC, the PNs are not listed in a logical way. I did a check on my cars tonigh to find out this once and for all, so here they are.

Wow, guess I got lucky....I am no EPC guru. Thanks Arnt! How did you verify the part #? EPC or are they stamped on the actual part?

I pulled all covers on the Limited. I also found that the left seat outer cover was wrong, so I pulled that one from the SuperMerc to snap the photos. If you switch the left and right seat inner covers, they will slide in place as outer covers, but they don't match with the corner on the side cover on the seat. I've enclosed a detail of how the outer covers shall fit.

The outer covers on both sides are quite PITA to get off. It is a lock tab underneath in front of them which hooks up underneath and inside on the seat frame/rail. The cover must be pressed inwards and down really hard at that point to release them, if you pull or twist too hard the tab will break off...don't ask me how I know..

To make the whole operation easier:
- run the seat max forward
- tilt max down at front
- tilt max up in the rear

More pics of the LEFT seat base covers. Point on each image to see the title, or open and see the title down at right.

My left (driver) sear right cover always falls off when I move seat all way back . I checked the piece and there is nothing broken on it but it does not hold ...

Does anybody have the same issue ?

My right seat covers are fine both of them.

Arnt, thanks for finding this EPC error... I've added it to my list.

It is not much clearance between the seat and those covers, so when the seats are run back and forth something may slightly snag the covers, dependent on the seat position. That lower lock tab underneath, as I mentioned in post #5, is also hard to snap in place. If it's not properly locked the cover will come loose, 99% sure.

The inner covers on both seats have easier access with the fingers to both loosen and press in lock. So do a check on that, you must press hard and clearly hear a sharp "click" when it locks. I'll shoot some pics of a spare cover I have and post here during the day.

Here is some pics of the inner covers. The two first pics show them in the position you see them when you sit in the back seat and look down on the seat bases. On the third they have been switched for better comparison of the details inside. The last image shows the broken lock tab which is so hard to release, and also to press in lock. If that lock tab breaks off, the cover can (...or it will) slide loose when the seats are run backwards.

Thanx a lot for details , I ll check on mine and most likely just buy a new one .

I was going to order the left seat outer cover A201 919 19 20, but they are now listed NLA here in Europe.
(for reference see images in post #1)

Parts.com appears to still supply it though; http://www.parts.com/parts/index.cf...hText=2019191920&action=oePartSearch&siteid=2

I guess it's easy to score this cover secondhand, but as a warning - they may have broken mounting tabs! The tabs easily break if the cover is taken off incorrectly.
FYI, the right seat inner cover does fit as a temporary left seat outer cover, but it doesn't cover the seat base rail properly.

BTW, all the other seat base covers are still available here in Europe, but only in black color.

Arnt, just because parts.com shows a price, does NOT mean they can supply the part. They show everything on the MBNA price list, which includes many parts that are NLA. If the part is NLA, your order will be cancelled.

The ONLY way to check availability is to call a dealership and have them check stock worldwide, and ask if there are codes which prevent an order from being placed.

I would call MB Classic Center 949-598-4845. They will have a better price and cheaper shipping than parts.com, if the parts are available.

Aha - that makes sense, thanks for highlighting! I requested both Speed Autoteile and my local MB-dealer. I don't think the dealer did a worldwide search, not sure they even can do, but he checked the European main inventory.

I'm not sure how European dealers can check stock, but in USA, the dealer can check stock in all USA warehouses, and also main inventory in Germany. It's pretty common to have an oddball part not stocked in USA, but available in Germany, and it takes about a week to make the trip across the pond after ordering.

End of story - another 124 part is NLA - the left seat outer cover A201 919 19 20

Tom Hanson at MBCC recently replied that the global locator confirmed this particular cover is NLA.
Breakers/parts cars are now the only alternative.
