Physical appearance (grille) and mechanical (LH mapping for Wide Open Throttle) along with some subtle engineering improvements like larger brakes. There are others but for the most part, those are the major differences. Smaller improvements to systems, size of components and where they may be located, etc. Just basic things as a design ages..

Hello everyone, This is my very first post. I buy, restore, then sell classic W108s/W109s and have recently looked into maybe purchasing a W124 500E that I won't have to restore and just enjoy. I've seen people talk about a pre and post facelift model but haven't really been able to find a side...
No shame in asking. I didn't know myself other than the pre-facelift/facelift differences. Thanks!
