If the joint is clean and intact, and has zero play, replace the boot with new OE. This can be done without removing the LCA from the car, alignment not required afterwards.
May not be a bad idea to buy the spare LCA just in case, or if there is obviously water/dirt in the joint from the torn boot. There are a few left, for now, maybe. Have your dealer dude check Paragon.
Straightforward R&R. Your mechanic is wrong, or doesn't want to do the job. I've done this personally several times. Worst part is getting the circlip re-installed without damaging the brand new boot...
Did they check worldwide inventory AND ALSO dealer inventory?

Right sportline LCA went NLA over a year ago, this dose not surprise me. Apparently there is company in Poland that can refurbish this arms, please don't throw away your old LCA. I don't have bad LCA at hand to send to them, so I don't know if this is true or not. Maybe they just install new boot IDK.
