Bonjour, je viens vers vous car j'ai découvert il y à quelques mois une Mercedes 500e du 01/10/1990 qui dormait dans un hangar depuis 15 ans. Je pense qu'il s'agit d'un modèle de presse ayant appartenu à Mercedes Stuttgart pendant un an et revendu ensuite à l'homme à qui je viens de la racheter.voici quelques photos du carnet d'entretien et la datacard. Elle a été immatriculée pour la première fois le 1er octobre 1990 et a servi de véhicule de presse pendant un an avant d'être vendue à un Français. Je pense que les journalistes automobiles l'ont poussée dans ses retranchements.

There are no pre production 500E. Not even one. Every prototype was destroyed. This car is Nr.26.

Very cool to see such an early example! And the first time I ever saw option code 879 ENGINE COMPARTMENT LAMP FOR W 124 - if you have the chance, could you snap a photo of what it looks like under the hood?

C'est vraiment génial de voir un exemplaire aussi ancien ! Et c'est la première fois que je vois l'option 879 « Éclairage du compartiment moteur pour W 124 ». Si vous avez l'occasion, pourriez-vous prendre une photo de ce à quoi cela ressemble sous le capot ?

I was surprised a car with the price tag of an R129 doesn’t have a light under the bonnet.

On the other hand, if you could afford a new R129 you probably wouldn’t be going anywhere near the engine bay, at least not in the dark!!
 
Voici quelques photos de la voiture actuellement.
The wheels on this car do not seem to be either 'original' fit or the same as those in the magazine article. I have not seem those-style wheels before but they are a nice variant on the original design. But that is not to say that this car is not the one tested for the magazine.
 
These wheels are Brabus Mono IIIs in 19"designed for 140 chassis. In one piece variant they are rated 1000kg of load per wheel. I used to have such set on my 500 but the comfort is seriously compromised with 35 tire profile. The look is stunning though. I run them on my 140 now and with 40 tire profile the comfort is acceptable.

Anyway car is super cool and one airbag is also pretty rare i think. Most cars with no passanger airbag also do not come with drivers airbag.
