Looking for the strut that opens the fliptop armrest. Type is Stabilus Lift-O-Mat 977934. Have read various threads on this forum about people sourcing other non original struts, I’m of course interested in such struts also.

Looks like this can be used on our armrests. Now the problem is this vendor doesn’t ship outside the UK. Is there a fellow UK member that can help me purchase a couple of these struts?
Are you certain the UK shop can supply one in the correct size? The fitment is finicky, "close enough" many not work.
I assume you've read the previous thread at the link below with details about sourcing the Stabilus or aftermarket equivalents, which still require modification to fit:
ORDER HAS BEEN PLACED. THIS GROUP BUY IS NOW CLOSED TO NEW PARTICIPANTS :update::update::update: Its not quite Midnight here, but I think I have now processed all the payments that have come in over the last day. Thanks everyone! Once again, you're making this pretty easy on me. I appreciate...

According to my measurements, yes. Stroke is the same, force the same (80N). Slightly diffferent in eye to eye length, but that can be «dremeled» to fit if necessary.

I stumbled across this thread today so it may be too late, but I have a couple of the aftermarket struts from the group-buy back in 2012 and can sell one of those to help you out;
I can advise/assist/help facilitate a group buy but won't run one again for a while.

It will be at net price of what I paid + shipping. Both struts are still in the plastic bag untouched, but I don't know how they have held up the pressure. I'll check them and contact you per phone.
Arnt, too bad, I did not see your post before today.
So I finally got the time to put together my new fliptop armrest using the strut I bought from the UK. As expected the eyes at the ends needed some modification, and new holes needed to be drilled since the compressed length of the new strut was longer than the original. With the mods made the armrest came together nicely.
