US Motor Works Fan Clutch

Has anyone used the US Motor Works Fan Clutch 22323 on a 400/500E. Supposedly US manufactured or at minimum assembled. Also I believe they make it for Autozone with a limited life time warranty.

Thanks
BF

Never heard of it. Looks like every other cheap offshore viscous fan clutch (ACM, Vemo, Hamburgler Technic, etc).

I call 100% BS on the claim it has anything to do with USA besides "US" in the name, and being sold here.

The PDF is vague. It does not say that any products are made in USA and also does not say they don't manufacture outside of USA and/or Mexico.

It just shows their HQ, distribution, and "performance division" are located in USA and that there is a manufacturing facility in Mexico.

See if you can find any photograph of their fan clutch and/or fan clutch package that shows a COO.

I have ordered one and will advise. I don't see much difference between Sachs, Febi, 4 Season, Hayden, Myle,Duralast, etc. All made over seas just $100 more in cost between some of them. I guess just keep and eye on it for bearing noise and wobble. I'm hoping Mexico better than China.

Sachs (now Horton) is the OEM clutch which is a completely different design compared to all aftermarket clutches. These have been NLA for several years now.

Otherwise you are correct - Febi, 4 Season, Hayden, Meyle, Duralast, Vemo, ACM, all are half the size and look nearly identical.

Remember you must also buy a shorter center bolt (M10 x 50) if replacing an OE clutch with aftermarket.

The fan will move with little effort when the engine is off. The only valid test is the "roar test" as discussed in some of the other fan clutch threads.

Bolt size is mentioned in my previous post.
