Hello Gents,

Just came back from a big trip in Asia. Met some friends who are all classic Benz enthusiasts, especially w124 e500e lovers.

One friend showed me a pic of his friend who crashed and totalled his w124 E60.

When I saw that pic, my heart was crushed. I was told he drove too fast in the rain, car fish tailed and smashed the rear.

$500K USD car GONE, just like that. I honestly can not believe some dudes and their neglegence when driving these cars.

@yao500e: sorry to hear, particularly for the friend of your friend, although I (also) doubt the 500K figure

which brings me to: don't wish to be dancing on a (car)grave, but can he provide the VIN of that particular car? Wouldn't it be something (for the record, i.e. the VIN database on here) to know for a fact which ones are gone forever (particularly the Limited versions of the E500 and E60 AMG).....

I can ask for the VIN. but man, I'm just angry such a irresponsible person drove that E60. too few of them!

You mean: market values of the remaining ones speeding up? I take this "only 12" as a joke. Anybody on this forum knows by now that 147 were build (factory coded 957), of which 45 as a Limited (957 + 958). As TS hasn't mentioned details of the crashed E60, we even don't know whether this was a factory 957-coded E60 AMG, or an after delivery-conversion (Japanese or otherwise). Sad story for the owner anyway, whatever E60 it was.....
