Not sure if or when ppl will do this-
But I'm replacing the water pump on my 500e. I ordered new bolts from Mercedes due to a few are showing some corrosion.
Confusion- first the EPC and factory service manual disagree on quantity and lengths. Does it matter? maybe , maybe not.
But I know what I removed, I have measured the depth of the holes and the water pump flange.
FSM one marked "10" is actual 65 mm, not 60 mm.
"11" is actually 60 mm quantity 3
OK upper bolt has to be 60 mm. Quantities are wrong. I put the 65mm in the 2nd "11" clockwise.
The ones which appear to go into the timing cover which must be sealed are 10, 12, and the first 11 bolt going clockwise.
The 90mm bolt is bent. Off to the hardware store.
Missing a oring for the dipstick tube.... arrh. they sent me the one for the dipstick=0(
