I'm putting together an engine for my 400E and I'd love to track down a set of 92 5 liter intake cams. I have multiple sets of 93-95 cams, but the 92s are a little different and I'd like to try those. Let me know if you have a pair.

got a # or ready identifier?
Well, I'm mostly going off what I've read here on the forum. I think I read that you'd identified that 92 cams had more lift and possibly duration. I think those are code 72 and 74? If I have any of that wrong feel free to educate me.

Dave, correct me if I'm wrong, but the code numbers on that page are not casting numbers, they're the grind number, right? I THINK different grinds were applied to the same casting numbers and potentially multiple different castings were used for similar grinds, so the key is to look at the number inscribed on the 3rd bearing journal, right? I'm sure that's what you're referring to, and I'm being pedantic calling out the distinction between casting numbers and inscribed numbers, but I just want to be sure.

The FSM describes a 2 digit code, but in reality the code is 3 or 4 digits, and the first two are the "code." Subsequent digits I assume are revisions or lots.

My 94 cams have the following inscribed numbers:
R intake: 980
L intake: 960
R exhaust: 023
L exhaust: 000

My 95 cams have these:
R intake: 983
L intake: 963X
R exhaust: 023
L exhaust: 001

I don't know what the exact 3 or 4 digit code would be on the 92 cams, since I assume multiple distinct codes could apply, but I believe they'd be 72* and 74*.

Yes, you are correct... sorry, those are not casting numbers. The code numbers are etched into the journals. Photos below courtesy of W124performance:
