Wel wel wel... (as Lowman would say ;-) ) It's been a few very busy weeks, not much progress with my Merc... but I've been in contact with Uli in Germany for my interior refurbishment.
So I am going to get the interior out to bring it to his place... i am lucky he only lives 550km away from me so its a nice little drive.
After that the car will get it's registration here in Holland and a full maintenance service.

Today was nice weather so i took the chance to pull the interior.....
Pics speak for themselves i think.... Only the steering wheel and gear lever left to do.
btw... As asual, without this forum this job would have cost me atleast 5 broken interior bits .....

I'm quite unfortunate lately.... so i've been waiting and contacting the seller of the 300kmh speedo for a while but until now nothing has turned up....thats a mess offcourse.
Because the package is lost according to UPS.... so now trying to do something with UPS in terms of a compensation.
On the other hand my interior is at Uli's at the moment to be refurbished... so there is some progress but it's all going way too slow for me..

Sorry to hear about that missing speedo, but let's hope it shows up at some point though. :-|
I scored an aftermarket 300kmh AMG speedo plate last year with a superb quality, post #31 and #35 here; http://www.500eboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=810
I asked the seller for the vendor, but he said they have stopped making this speedo plate and he didn't reveal the source.
But I recently came across a vendor of plasma dials and repro OE dials, and based on the quality shown on the pics they could very well be the vendor;

They take custom jobs as well, so in case you want a 300kmh speedo plate I guess they could make one for you.

Did you have a chance to look into the viscous fan clutch?
I believe my clutch has been inoperative since I got the car couple years ago... Just installed a new unit from Mercedes, and it acts like the old one...does not lock up when car gets hot, and does not have that short duration lock up when you start the engine cold... I have checked and radiator and AC condenser are clear of any debris (bugs, etc), so the air should be flowing into the front of the clutch to activate the spring.
Other folks have experienced many faulty units brand new from Mercedes, but curious as to what you find.

Glad that I can do an update whatsoever.... Car has been collected last saturday and my friend immediately proceeded with the finishing of the car,so various parts have been ordered and some already delivered.
-SA rotors cross drilled + Brake pads
-2 new original fuel pumps
-fuel filter
-new "carpet" for hood
-trans oil
-1st gear start valve to be fitted
-'92 LH ECU
-New tyres (to be ordered)
-Wheels will be machined (my limited has the "painted" style EVO wheels and iI want the machined wheels)
- Spark plugs
-Engine oil
-Air filters
-Brake fluid
Still to do :
-New radio (i prefer a Becker)
-Front seats retrimming
Thats about it for the moment.... I'll try to take some pics.... but that's the easy part.... getting them up here is another thing.

Just got a call from my friend,he is swapping the fuel pumps and also removing the old fuel... he said there was a lot of "gunk" in the tank.
And a strange smell of "old" fuel... so this needs to be cleaned too.
You guys know a good and fast way to remove rubbish from a fueltank?

Photos do have file size (up to about 2 MB per photo is OK) and physical size limitations for upload, that are placed by the system. That's so we don't get massive photos uploaded to the site that take up tons of storage space and are processor-intensive to display.
Often, smart-phones such as the iPhone are set to take quite large physical and file-size photos, and so they have to be re-sized before uploading or else the upload will fail.
I agree with Arnt - it is always preferable to upload photos to the site and host them here, than to link to an external photo hoster such as Photobucket. People add and remove photos all the time at photo hosters, or accounts change or get removed, and then the photos are lost forever. It's quite easy to upload photos to the site here and we have plenty of storage space available.
If you have problems uploading photos, you can always e-mail them to a system admin (GSXR, Glen or myself) and we can attach them to a specific post, or you can make them available to one of us on a site like DropBox, and we can download/resize/upload the photos to the site. I do this with some regularity for folks who have problems.

Most of the time you should be able to drain the old fuel, put in fresh fuel (and filter), and just drive the car. Maybe use a fuel system cleaner like Red Line SI-1, or similar product. In really extreme cases you may need to remove the tank strainer but that requires either removing the gas tank, or removing the differential... neither are fun jobs.
Good point, I have just ordered an external , transparent fuel filter to temporary fit this before the OEM fuel filter,just to be sure when the tank is clean-ish.
Also fuel system cleaner from Forte has been ordered...the tank is already drained as far as possible (will be flushed too) so now it's up to the external filter to do it's job.
I guess my car has been stored a bit too long... low mileage has its disadvantages too

Star Tron Enzyme fuel treatment is a ethynol fighter for gas engines. It treats 512 gallons of gas and whether it be my lawn equipment or cars, I run 1/2-1Oz of this to fight storage issues. Especially if it sits like my generator or the other things I don't use for 2-3 months at a time during the winter months. In my car, I might use a pinch every 2-3 fill-ups.

I had a nice 30 min drive today, at first i thought the car felt a bit sluggish until i tapped the kick down, coming from 2 considerably faster cars I must say that really wasn't bad!
All in all a big smile on my face, stilll some minor work to do but I'm getting there.

I too move back and forth from a modern super saloon. My 2014 E63 is the last of the rear wheel drive E63 AMG and the 5.5L BT V8 (reduced to 4L on the new E63) is pushing 780HP and 1200nm.
Yet, the instant response on that old M119 and the immediate pull from say 180-200km/h....is a dreaaaammmm
