I have a small back log of customers requesting for exhaust kits.

So we will be doing a small batch run of 10 possibly 20 or more if there are additional people who want to join.

ETA will be in June/July of 2022

Due to material cost increase (lack of raw material production) prices have gone up for 2022 depending on order quantity the price will vary 7-10%

My anticipated cost break down for 2022 for a 20 batch run.

Oh dear, what is this new regulation on the catalytic converters? Such a bummer.
 
What would your recommendation be for people who want to buy a 49 or 50-state cat, assuming they want to buy their own?

Will the "front section w/o catalytic converter" have a removable piece so that a cat can be fitted at a later time?

That’s the problem with the recent crack down on catalytic converters “performance” exhaust companies based in the USA are not able to supply these units.

The catalysts are available but local muffler shops would have to install them.

Depending on state they will need to look up the EO number that is approved.

The catalysts I was supplying are three way heavy metal cats which were 50 state approved and expensive but they worked. The EO on those cats are still valid because they were sold before 9/2021. But after 9/2021 the EO number has been revoked which makes them not approved for use.

Aftermarket cats are not as “heavy”, less elements in the catalysts to do their work. They are cheaper but might not last as long.

The front section comes with a bolt on section (test pipe) which can be removed and replaced with a catalytic version. This was always the case as some customers wished to run a test pipe while others chose to have both. Test pipe for play, catalyst for smog years.

I have not simply due to the lack of access to a e420 to verify tip placement.
 
There are some photos on W124performance.com, the 034 tip placement is roughly 1-2 inches vertically higher compared to the 036. Everything else is the same.

How far off is that image above from a e320?

We fitted a rear can on an e320 when we were thinking of producing them.

Looks like I figured out what I’m doing for exhaust. Is it a bolt on from the cats back or will I need to take it to an exhaust shop?

Also is the E320 pictured above the stock style tips or the Brabus?

Same as the 500E it will be cat back. The connection points are the same for both models.

Tips will be stock or the dual round single wall pictured above.

Can't do brabus because they will not line up with the bumper cut out.

Perfect. Are you going to use a different item number (2C or something like that) for the 400E420? Prices the same as the 500E? I’m definitely going to get one but wanted to make sure I ordered the right one for the E420.
 
Total hijack here but do you plan on doing any more 16v exhausts?
i have 40 kits in stock ready to ship 16V kits are a regular stocking item for me. I am 100% focused on the 16V platform and burrowed deep in that rabbit hole.

If you have instagram check out @flieben_ca its 90% 16V parts and projects on there.

just so you have a better idea of who i am and how deep I'm involved with the 190E 16V platform.

Argh what the heck! That M3 was an ex D-mod race car and had almost 20% more horsepower (and more displacement).

no i am running those at the same time as the 500E units.

So you are recommending 2A cat back with round tips that stick straight out? Does this bolt right on to the existing pipes or do I need to weld it together? I have a 500E.

Ok I got confused…

For the 500e the only thing I am producing are OE turndown look.

The dual round tip that points back is for e420 only.
 
Looks like I will be doing a small batch of 500e with brabus tips.

So for now this is my plan.

10 front sections
10 rear sections with turn down
5 e420 rear sections with twin tips
5 brabus tips.

Currently there are no deposits so none of these are spoken for.

Material gets ordered on March 14, 2022.

If the proposed quantities above are spoken for and I get a few stragglers after March 14,2022 I won’t be able to help.

Once the material request gets finalized I can’t add more with out an up charge to material.

Those who pre-order will get pre-order pricing.

Those who don’t pre-order will get standard pricing.

Refer to the first post for pricing info.

OEM style tips, manifold back, I don’t care about cats, but will no cats throw a check engine light like modern cars?

I’m still working my way thru cascades punch list. Lol.

@therealrordog, welcome to the forum! Removing the cats will not cause a CEL, the O2 sensor is located pre-cats.
