500 e kick down not working

From my mechanic. Suggestions?
Thanks
Ok, the old switch had corrosion on the pins, so seeing how it was old and not very expensive, it was an easy call to replace it. It did not fix the kickdown issue though. I checked for power at the solenoid with the switch depressed, and I have none, nor do I have power at the back of the switch. I believe the switch gets its power from the base module. All the fuses in the BM are fine, but I need an accurate wiring diagram to trace out the wiring from the switch to the BM. Can you see if anyone in the 500E group has that diagram? The only thing I have is a 500SL, 129 chassis diagram which is similar, but I need the right one to go in deeper.

Thanks so much! Have forwarded on and will follow up back to you.
Many thanks!

Mechanic is working through it and very appreciative of the diagrams!
Thank you!

Another item he feels might help with the idle is an EZL rebuilt or new?
Appreciate your thoughts!

The vast majority of EZL failures are either losing one coil (engine runs rough, only 4 cylinders firing) or losing both coils (engine will not start). Less common failures are where one of the EZL sensors (i.e., manifold vacuum or atmospheric pressure sensor) is broken and stuck reading a fixed, invalid value.

It's extremely unlikely that the EZL is causing idle issues. What specific part number EZL is installed on your car now? And what are the idle issues?

All 5.0L EZL's have been NLA for years, but are plentiful on the used market - just be careful when buying. I sell used EZL's that have been 100% tested on my personal car, guaranteed not DOA, but they will cost more than the "roll the dice" eBay examples.

:shocking:

He is looking at a rebuild for $750. Thoughts?
Rebuilt EZL? These pretty much can't be rebuilt! Any seller claiming this is either likely either clueless, and/or lying. These units are sealed and there are no serviceable parts inside. The EZL would have to be cut open and glued back together. Click here for photos, in particular read post #'s 15-17. Sooo many fragile surface-mount components! I've never seen any company that legitimately "rebuilds" them, as in takes a defective unit and makes it function properly again. There's not much need, currently, with good used units available. Decades in the future when the supply of used ones dries up, that may change, maybe.

Thanks. What are you selling one for? Rather go your way.
Need to know if you prefer a specific part number, i.e. what was likely the original number in your car from the factory, or if you prefer the latest part number. Includes new thermal compound for installation as well. I'll send you a message with details.

What do you suggest?
And can I Zelle you or send a check? Not on PayPal or Venmo.

Here are the numbers from the mechanic.
0155456132 or 0155456232 are the latest part numbers from MB for that unit.

Sure, we can work out either Zelle (faster) or a check (slower). I'm away this weekend but would be able to get photos of the unit on Monday, could ship as soon as Tuesday. Shoot me a private message (aka "conversation") and we can discuss details...

:cheers2:

Have a good weekend. Remind me how to private conversation? It’s a skill set I’m still , obviously, trying to master!
