heh thank you so much my friend.Im glad to hear you think so.I do feel the same way. What really got me to go over the edge, and pull the trigger on the 500e,was the history of the car.Massive service history, 2 owner car,,one owner from 1991 -2017...and one owner from 2017 up til when i now bought it.So hopefully the car will behave..so i dont develop buyers remorse...Though that feeling is veeery sneeky..cause the Silverwolf aka e50 amg is in maaany ways far superior to the 500e. Though the better way of seeing it, is that it is two veeery different cars, with each their own specific qualities.@lowman,
Stephan, CONGRATULATIONS! You made the right choice in fact the only choice IMOP. It’s official now with your new beautiful 500E! Welcome back to the 500EBoard!

yeah man,,they are far beyond toast. They are the original ones to the car..so they are from march 91. But i will check the datecode to make sure. I was aware of them beeing not goot,,,as there was an unpleasant shake during cranking the engine, but also noticable shaking engine at idle..and some sound transfer when driving. The engine mount headshield was touching the housing of the engine mount.oh yeah, those mounts were TOAST. What was the date code? Original from 1992-ish?

Thank you so much for kind words my friend.Yes this is definetly a situation that results in some serious food for thought...and im seriously glad to be alive.Glad to see your OK Stephan. You never know when your ticket is going to be punched.
Hopefully your E50 has only minor damage.
PS: Say your prayers tonight.![]()

Im very glad to hear it went "well" with you and your loved ones aswell...life is afterall more important than any car ❤thank you my friendVery glad for you! This could have turned out so badly.
I was victim of the same scenario many years ago. We were grazed harder and did go off the shoulder and rolled, but we were not in a rare classic.
This is probably the most serious break of the traffic rules, so I am pretty convinced the driver will be sentenced and prisoned. A former colleague of mine caused something similar to this. He was fiddling with something in the mid console and drifted over to the oncoming lane and causing a partial head-on collision. They hit on the left corner in an 80 kmt zone and both cars were totalled. Luckily no serious injuries except from all persons were beaten hard and shocked. He lost his drivers lisence for a longer period, got a steep fine and was prisoned - I think for a couple of months. Additionally he got a "regress"(..I didn't find the english term) from the insurance companies.Thank you so much for kind words my friend.Yes this is definetly a situation that results in some serious food for thought...and im seriously glad to be alive.
The damage on Silverwolf is luckily minimal,,and to be fair, quite handy,,as i now will get to correct a paint color shade difference on my left front fender, and getting the front bumper mint condition by getting new paint on it.So all in all damage wise,im quite happy that it went as it went. But again, severly shaken up by the fact that this was a close call.
Im also super happy to know that the other people involved is as fine as can be after an incident like this.
And today i got to know that the Tesla driver causing this has had his licence taken away from him, keeping him off the streets for a while.

I'm glad it went well, Stefan!![]()
Are you talking about the fuel gauge? Yes ,its intermittently working. Havent got around checking what is causing it.Suddenly it pop ups where its supposed to be, and suddenly it drops to zero. Fuel warning light comes on when its supposed to at least...Petrol "fumes" ?
Thank you very much.Yes ,it does indeed make a great appearance there...cool ambient lighting ,and the monoblocks does suit it for sure.I do have some wheels in the works for it
