The solution to the IR locking /alarm issue, was indeed the PSE module.
I have made some cool videos about it,,but unfortunatly they are in Norwegian only, and only posted to the norwegian Mercedes facebook group i run.
So If any of you,for whatever reason it might be,,want to check it out,,or even become a member...you are welcome to join in .At least you can have a look at the pictures posted,,,and if more interested..translate whats beeing written :)
Here is a link for the group :) ITs called Classic Mercedes Benz Norge ( Classic Mercedes Benz Norway )Mr Klink is actually a member ;)

@lowman,
Stephan, CONGRATULATIONS! You made the right choice in fact the only choice IMOP. It’s official now with your new beautiful 500E! Welcome back to the 500EBoard!
heh thank you so much my friend.Im glad to hear you think so.I do feel the same way. What really got me to go over the edge, and pull the trigger on the 500e,was the history of the car.Massive service history, 2 owner car,,one owner from 1991 -2017...and one owner from 2017 up til when i now bought it.So hopefully the car will behave..so i dont develop buyers remorse...Though that feeling is veeery sneeky..cause the Silverwolf aka e50 amg is in maaany ways far superior to the 500e. Though the better way of seeing it, is that it is two veeery different cars, with each their own specific qualities.
:)

The right choice in my opinion Stefan - congratulations on the purchase, beautiful 500E and I’m very much looking forward to seeing updates.

P.S this is a good opportunity to reboot your YouTube channel with 500E content again.

Just found this baby for sale nationally. For a bargain price of 250 dollars .No guarantee for it beeing 100 percent in working order, but the seller i bought it from, did get it from a lady, that did say the transmission was fully working. Came from a 500 SL. Looking forward to take the Pan off, and the primary pump and reverse clutches out for closer inspection.
I also have new genuine reverse clutches etc coming in from Germany 🤩
Eitherway,,i cannot go wrong with it, for such a low bargain pric.🤩

New old stock Siemens ezl 🤩

Cheap belt tensioner, Vaico....just because cheap. Will get a genuine later on .but im kinda curious to see how this cheap one performs.

And Silverwolf gets new tires 🤩
As some of you might know,,i have stuck to buying Dunlop for the car ,when buying new tires for this car since i bought it,because the e50 amg came with Dunlops from factory. But i have never been superhappy with the grip level in the wet with these Rt2 Max tires from Dunlop.
So when i discovered lately that my front tires needed replacing,,, i decided to pull the trigger on tires of my favourite brand of tire,,, four new Michelin pilot sport 5.
And boy do they grip. 🤩😍

So ,a little job done
Replacing the SLS reservoar.
This reservoar is not longer available,so i had to hunt down some good used ones, and this one is the first one i found and is now fitted.
I do however have another one coming in ,that looked better on the auction pictures, so crossing my fingers.
I also got to finally then replace the SLS fluid.
Definetly an item worth replacing to make the engine bay look as it should.

New used tank. Looks decent in pictures but it does have some discoloration i dont like.
20250613_205447.jpg

oh yeah, those mounts were TOAST. What was the date code? Original from 1992-ish?

:duck:

yeah man,,they are far beyond toast. They are the original ones to the car..so they are from march 91. But i will check the datecode to make sure. I was aware of them beeing not goot,,,as there was an unpleasant shake during cranking the engine, but also noticable shaking engine at idle..and some sound transfer when driving. The engine mount headshield was touching the housing of the engine mount.

I was in an accident today ,on my way to holiday.
An oncoming tesla was overtaking two cars, he lost traction, and came over towards me in my lane, and i barely got to avoid him by going all the way on the outer shoulder of the road.Only thing that kept me from driving off the road, was the road shoulder going 1 meter longer towards the ditch on that excact spot , If it had been 2 meters earlier or later ,and i would have gotten in the ditch and rolled.
He was so close, that he tore my mirror off, broke a foglight, .
So ,,if there is a time where i can say one has a guardian angel,or some other kind of luck,,this was it.
Im glad to be alive today ❤
Also ,Im so glad no one was seriously hurt, and im glad i got to avoid having a car colliding head on into me ❤😥

Please be carefull out there ,people. Be hyper aware of all oncoming traffic.

Glad to see your OK Stephan. You never know when your ticket is going to be punched.

Hopefully your E50 has only minor damage.

PS: Say your prayers tonight.:)
Thank you so much for kind words my friend.Yes this is definetly a situation that results in some serious food for thought...and im seriously glad to be alive.
The damage on Silverwolf is luckily minimal,,and to be fair, quite handy,,as i now will get to correct a paint color shade difference on my left front fender, and getting the front bumper mint condition by getting new paint on it.So all in all damage wise,im quite happy that it went as it went. But again, severly shaken up by the fact that this was a close call.
Im also super happy to know that the other people involved is as fine as can be after an incident like this.
And today i got to know that the Tesla driver causing this has had his licence taken away from him, keeping him off the streets for a while.
🙂
Broken mirror

Here you can see the marks after the road shoulder. It just shows how lucky i got .the wheel was actually outside the roadshoulder.
Also very lucky that the plastic is still intact, and also no further damage further back in the floor section .

On a happier side note. Before i left for holiday,i got to fit a new AC decal, with the R134 spec gas. Before it had the r12 decal. But the car has been converted to r134.Though i have a feeling its leaking .But thats for another day 😀
20250709_191025.jpg

Also, got to fit this lovely era specific decal.160km/h limit decal, when winter tires fitted. I just think it looks good 🙂

Very glad for you! This could have turned out so badly.

I was victim of the same scenario many years ago. We were grazed harder and did go off the shoulder and rolled, but we were not in a rare classic.
Im very glad to hear it went "well" with you and your loved ones aswell...life is afterall more important than any car ❤thank you my friend

This is probably the most serious break of the traffic rules, so I am pretty convinced the driver will be sentenced and prisoned. A former colleague of mine caused something similar to this. He was fiddling with something in the mid console and drifted over to the oncoming lane and causing a partial head-on collision. They hit on the left corner in an 80 kmt zone and both cars were totalled. Luckily no serious injuries except from all persons were beaten hard and shocked. He lost his drivers lisence for a longer period, got a steep fine and was prisoned - I think for a couple of months. Additionally he got a "regress"(..I didn't find the english term) from the insurance companies.

I'm glad it went well, Stefan! :cheers2:

Man, that is scary.
Thank you for kind words 😊

Petrol "fumes" ?
Are you talking about the fuel gauge? Yes ,its intermittently working. Havent got around checking what is causing it.Suddenly it pop ups where its supposed to be, and suddenly it drops to zero. Fuel warning light comes on when its supposed to at least...
