Just give them your "I don't want to sell it" price...
Maybe that’s what he got offered… 😊

It’s a difficult choice, I had a lot of woes selling my E420, but I actually never really regretted it. I was just finished with it, plus other priorities at the time.

And I was somewhat reluctant on the idea of keeping the 500E, but I’m so happy I did, I’m enjoying it more than ever.

So sell if it’s right @lowman there will be other opportunities. 😊

Thank you so much. Hm...i do not need the funds at all..but the amount beeing offered is just like on another level that i even would not have thought about if i were to advertise it for sale...that is how good it is...And ive had the car for 4 years..and there is just something in me that really wants to go for selling it just because of that amount beeing offered...but thats about it.Though my thoughts do dwell on then beeing able to get myself a c126 560Sec that ive always wanted. ..oh well....But thank you for input. That means alot :)
why...can't you keep anything for long? Do you have to tell every time you change underwear, and also, tiresome. what you and others sold or just departed from
who cares? I don't feel the need to show anything other than my current MB-s
BTW I reasently bought an E 420 '96 210, I would keep the E50 if you want my oppinion. There is nothing next to the M119 IMO

@lowman,
Stephan, I think you have an itch to keep trying to find a new car to challenge your restoration skills. You’ve put a lot of time and €€€s into this rare car and it shows. IMOP, I think you should keep it for a while and enjoy the fruits of your labor but that just an opinion of someone who has owned a 500E going on 20 years this October.:)

lol

Get off my thread please if you have nothing constructive to write. No one forces you to come onto my thread and read what is going on.

Thank you :) Well...the car has not been " offered " for sale..so this time around it was not something i just decided. But when it comes to ownership..how it works for me,is that i find the ride of restoring and making stuff better than it was,,is what i enjoy. NOT keeping a car for x amount of time. But i do admire people that own cars for a long time...cause i cannot see how it is possible having just one car througout life. There are far to many cars i want to explore, and which i have dreamt of owning. When it comes to the Silverwolf, ive actually owned it for almost as long as i did with my 500e...so they are the two cars ive owned the longest. And because my cars are rolling restorations..they are beeing enjoyed all the time...so i have enjoyed the car since i got it..so that box is ticked off. But we will see what happens. I do want an c126...so now when i have the offer of letting Silverwolf go...it is veeery tempting to go full on ahead,,and get on with another project :)

Keep it until you’re tired of it, or need the liquidity. You’ll kick yourself the rest of your life otherwise!!
Thank you for comment.I agree with you right there...it definetly needs some thinking..before selling...or not selling for that matter. We only live once ,sits strong with me :)

@lowman,
I’m just setting here behind my car at the local Friday car show. It’s 67 degrees at 6:48 PM here in SoCal.
Wow ,car looks amazing my friend ,😍😍😍What kind of car show are you attending ,is it like a car n coffee kinda thing or?That is a nice temperature though 😀Me and Nora don't like it alot hotter than that. Here its been around 80degrees today, and during the last few days ,here . Which is pretty hot for our climate.

@lowman,
It’s the the “Main Street Car Show” that occurs every Friday night all year long from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM in my town. I try to go about once a month. Cars from as far as 50 to 60 miles away usually show up. Mostly Hot Rods but I have a few friends I meet there and usually we have a drink and dinner. Also there’s always a live band. The turnout is anywhere from say 40 to 80 cars.

The reason I went last night was I spent about 2 days detailing my car for today’s Cars & Coffee at the MB Classic Center in Long Beach. I just couldn’t waste all that effort on just one show,:jono:

Lowman - You should get the C126, you can really do a lot of work to it and like most C126, the back seats are generally pristine except for the tops of the seat backs exposed to sun.

Wow..that sounds lovely :) A carshow every friday sounds like a blast. And i can definetly see that you dont want to have done all that detailing work just for one show..so i gotcha for sure :)Looks amazing . Is your car a 040 color?

All i can say..is that i am wayyy into the process of leaning into actually buying it. Ive already started investigating " parts availability/ common issues etc etc...(yes i know of some..but this is more like in depth common issues investigation ;) ..There are some parts of the car that is somewhat " not ideal for me..but the most important is the condition of the body and interior. All other parts of the car can be dealt with more " easily"...than if it was a rust bucket...so...yeah :)

@lowman,
Yes it’s 040!
There was at least 200 MB cars at the Cars & Coffee this AM. There was a lot to look at. I think I saw one of every MB I ever owned. Here are some pics.

I didn’t take any pics of my 500E today since I shared a few from last night. Turns out there was 5 - 500Es at the meet but I only got to talk with one Owner. His car had a carbon fiber rear spoiler. In fact this guy has 4 or 5 cars they were showing. Two were custom built 300SLs. One of them was an EV using all Tesla running gear. Turns out their shop is about 5 miles from my home. I plan on visiting them and will take pics at that time. The other 500E Owners just parked and disappeared.

I parked next to socal210 and jowser they both brought RED E320 Cabriolets. I felt pretty good about my 500E’s presentation. I can’t believe all of the compliments my car got from all sorts of people.

Anyway, It was a great day for me! :)

Wow..what a show attendance. That is awesome. And its no wonder you get alot of compliments on your car..it is straight up amazing looking..and those who know...they know :) Seemingly alot of people does :)

Speaking of car shows...
The 11th of may, I Attended the annual Mercedes Benz meeting, held at the local MB dealership, a 2.5 hour drive down south from my hometown of Stavanger .A small town called Lyngdal. This town is not far from where i used to live, when i lived down south , Kristiansand. So i always combine this show, with going down to where i used to live in Kristiansand, and visit my friends there..and also visit my old workplace...the Mercedes Benz dealership.
After the carshow ended, we went for a long cruising. And one of the places we stopped at, and visited was an old gas station, that was turned into somwehat of a private museum. A really cool place. So we got to snoop around ,have a chat, and enjoy the sun :)
After that ,we went over the mountain, through narrow roads, and ended up at destination point, "Utsikten Hotel".(The View Hotel, directly translated. www.Utsiktenhotell.no ) which is located beautifully in the end of a long fjord.
Eitherway ..here are a nice amount of pictures for you to check out :)
First off,,,breakfast :)

Some pictures from the cruising. And also from the "pitstop" we had,at the Gas station museum. Really cool place...though it wasnt alot to take pictures of..so it was basically another place to get some fancy shots of our cars...with a taste of old gasstation blend in ;)

Was at work yesterday, trying to find something to improve on Silverwolf..and these brackets for this hydraulic line for the SLS ,needed work.
So it was basically a simple little cosy job.
Removing the rust with a wirewheel, treated the parts with etch primer ,then painted them in darker shade silver.
Also cleaned up the rubber inserts.

I need to get new plastic nuts for the bracket,as they are abit on the loose side. But it works for now.
Also put some clear wax on top of the brackets afterwards 😊
I hope you liked it :)

That is correct ,mister Arnt 🙂🙂
Gonna source some more parts ,and also going to clean the oiler tubes in an ultrasonic cleaner bath, before fitting them. Also im going to measure the volume inside the oiler tubes, just to make sure the ones i have, are all equal. You might remember that I have two different types of tubes,in my complete set.Which obviously bugs be ...aaalot 😆

When it comes to quantity of o rings,,i did actually receive 35 o rings, and not 32 as advertised from the seller,so that was kinda nice 🙂

Today i got around doing the front wheel bearing maintenance.
Im not doing a full how to ,but rather just show some of the steps, and mainly show the workings of the bearing grease tool.
Also cleaned up the brake discs.Lots of meat left on them luckily, but i will need to get some new pads soon.
Also, eventhough there are no excessive bearing noise,i think i will get some new wheel bearings as they do have some wear to them in terms of them been hot. Also,i was not able to do a regrease of the inner bearings because i did not have a new sealing ring.So for now ,i did the best of what i had.
And after driving the car after this regrease session, there is actually less roadnoise,,,no wonder, cause there was not alot of grease in them before.
Also ,i mesured the bearing measurement correctly, with the gauge.I set freeplay at about 0.02mm.Which is within spec if i remember correctly.
Eitherway, here are some pictures.I hope you like ☺️

So,now the car is ready for its two year road inspection tomorrow. Also gave the car a detailing session on the underside ,to make it representable for the inspector 🤩

Aaaaaaand today ,Silverwolf was approved for 2 more years on the road. This is the same test as the german, TUV second year approval test.
The inspector, was nervous for handling my car, cause he knows how picky i am about everything 🤩🇧🇻

And last but not least....im gathering parts for some upgrades, repairs and preventative maintenance.
Im doing the oiler tubes as you might know.
Also,im doing the drainback valve in the oilfilterhousing.
Im also repairing a small oil seapage, from the oil level sender unit. This is the only "leak" i have on the entire engine and driveline, which is kinda cool.
Also,i have inlet gaskets etc ,for a little inlet refurb. Not sure if im going to do that,in fear just any possible issue doing the job.Ive seen inlet manifold bolts to head, break due to them beeing stuck. Only seen that on older m119 engines in w140's etc,,,,so maybe my fear is not warranted?
I guess ill see.But first, oil leak, and oiler tubes.Waiting still for the upper timing chain guides, between the cam gears.
Oh,and im replacing a connector housing on the rear right coil,as it broke earlier, when removing the coilpack cover, abit harshly 🙈20240716_155233.jpg20240716_155237.jpg20240716_155249.jpg20240716_155252.jpg20240716_155254.jpg20240716_155259.jpg20240716_155312.jpg20240716_155347.jpg20240716_155402.jpg20240716_155500.jpg

hahaha i could come up with a super funny story here for sure..but the reality of it its not really that interesting 😁 I just parked at a friends house/driveway. And his girlfriend left me this note. BUT....the parking WAS kinda " like an asshole parking" for sure.hahaha. I just left my car in front of the entrance /and garagedoor...so no one could even remotly come out...so definetly not a well thought out, parking :gwag::jono::nobmw:

UPDATE ,on the Oilertube O ring "saga".
I have now ordered, and received 1 genuine Oilertube Oring from mercedes.
Ive done the essential feel test, but also measured it,and compared this to the Victor Reinz O ring.
They are identical in physical measure,as far as measuring carefully with a manual caliper.I dont have a digital one at hand.
I set the caliper at one setting, and let the o ring sit in between so it would not fall out on its own,and the two rings were sitting stuck ,excactly the same way.
When it comes to the feel test ,to be honest, the Victor Reinz one felt the best, a tad more plyable.
The color is as you can see ,a tad darker on the genuine one...so either it is older ,or it is a different manufacturer.
Eitherway,im super confident mounting the Victor Reinz O rings.
I hope you like the little write up 🙂
Genuine to the left, and Victor Reinz to the right.

Calling w210 1996/1997 owners,
Im having trouble with the IR locking on my e50.
When unlocking the car, the red green lights in the mirror and turn signals blink as usual, but the central locking wont open the car, and the red diode in the tow/alarm button inside, does not turn off.
When i lock the car ,the normal procedure with the happen again, and when i try to unlock it the second time around ,it opens the doors and diode in the tow alarm switch turns off.And its all normal.
i have checked the pse pump module for activation when unlocking first time, and the pump does not start.
No faultcodes.
Any common issues ? N54.1 ir module? Pse module ? N10.1 combination relay module?
Any suggestions? Gsxr?
