FOR SALE 1992 500E, custom Silver/Burgundy (color changed), 213kkm, CC auction (Kuwait City, Kuwait)

No affiliation. Credit to @maw1124 for spotting this one.

Originally Pearl Black with Gray interior. Repainted (color changed) to Silver with Burgundy interior. Almost zero optional equipment besides sunroof and passenger airbag, however as part of the interior swap it received a rear roller blind upgrade. The console woods were refinished poorly and the shift console wood is now in need of refinishing, again. Pity that the door panels are from an MB Tex vehicle (donor was likely a diesel or other pedestrian 124).

Wrong/standard headlights, but at least they are RHT (USA/Germany). Need undercarriage photos. Engine compartment doesn't look good for only 213kkm. Of more serious concern, the front bumper "grille" appears to be completely missing... and the bumper is NLA... and there are zero close-up photos to see what's going on there.

Sportline interiors ware never offered in Burgundy (nor Green, nor Palomino/Saddle/Date), which makes this one interesting.

I believe those may be S class Monoblocks. Both 265/35 /18 & 245/40/18 tires look a bit stretched for E55 Monoblocs as well as being a bit unequal in circumference.

The maroon interior looks well done although the Burlwood does not sit well in it. It does not look like details were looked after overall.

Hm I believe in all these years in Kuwait I haven't seen this one yet. Maybe imported at some point. You would not find this color trim on local cars...hence my clues.
Engine bay looks like typical longer middle east exposure with the typical weathering and dust. Would guess potential track of life: German Market delivery-japan-middle east country x - Kuwait

Also the usual statements as "mint, the only serious, fully repaired & service by specialist" is rather not to be taken seriously.
Evidence of the common "fully repaired" statement is easily visible on the radiator support:
Still visually badly crumpled and missing head light fasteners

Also in Rouven's photos above... wrong upper radiator hose, and the p/s cooling pipe is either incorrect or bent. That, along with zero decals on the upper radiator support, and newer headlights (stickers visible) all adds up to: Front end accident hard enough to require replacement of hard parts.

No bueno.

:wormhole:
