***Interior is Simply Stunning - I usually don't like custom jobs but this one is FACTORY Quality - Custom stitched steering wheel with real carbon fiber inserts, custom stitched dash and blue alcantara headliner and custom stitched visors, exact stitching on factory 500E interior upgraded to two tone real beef leather, real carbon fiber done wood and door inserts, even the factory Nokia phone has been carbon fibered. Every stitch is PERFECT! Everybody who sees the car is amazed by the quality and craftsmanship of the interior. Also all floors and doors have sound deadening insulation installed, upgraded speakers and stereo system and drilled slotted rotors, undercarriage has been treated with WURTH protective undercoating... and much more... No expenses were spared on this one. I've seen a lot of 500E's but nothing really comes close to this one.

A dissenting opinion from me. I don't mind the interior. And as for hurting resale, I would rather have a car I like driving and being in vs. having something I think of as an asset. Besides, while I think any good E500E will command a good price with values inching up, only a relatively small number of low mile, pristine cars (and cars like 600Eric's) will be really interesting to collectors with lots of money and who care about originality.

Like my (and most) E500 limited(s).... original is better.

I also like the interior. Good to see that the custom interior was NOT done to a E500 Limited, now, that would have been a bad move. Other than the interior, the only other cosmetic "problem" I can spot is the notched rear bumper. Overall it looks to be in excellent condition, especially the door handles and all the metal strips (roof rails, rear passenger windows, rear window surround and front windshield strip). Price is probably $10k too high though...

Biggest problem is that it can't be (affordably) imported to USA until it's 25 years old, around 2018. So, it's likely limited to buyers in Canada or Europe for now...

Although not distasteful and very well done I prefer the original offering. Colors are on the bold side. If all the work were was done in black or beige I think it would look grand. Looks like a very well kept car, Aesthetically at least. GLWS!

Interior strikes me as a toned down version of the interior of the RennTech 6.0 liter 5 speed car that many members may remember.

The quality of the stitching work looks to be exceedingly high. The way those stiches follow the door handles and thelines of the dash top are reminiscent of what the very best Porsche interior trimmers do when they do re-uohilster all leather cars (where door handles and dashtop are covered with leather)

Or the owner will have to store it for a little while before importing. If it is a model year 1993 then I think that means it might have actually been manufactured in 1992. If that's true it can be imported in 2017 in the month of its manufacture.

That professionally done custom interior is not for any old upholstery shop to do. That is some next level work. That interior requires a lot of skiving leather, which involves shaving leather to make it thinner, so that the leather can fit on dashboard portions and the like without creating unnecessary thickness. That upholstery work is far from the regular jobs of fitting pattern cut leather onto seats and steaming and making it look good.

I bought a 500SEL in Germany once that did not have an electric passenger seat, but had a driver's seat with memory!
You could also order in Germany a W124 with wind up windows.......

Correct - but I can't remember the last time I saw a Euro-spec 036 without driver memory seat. I've seen Euro/Japan 036's with non-heated seats, but this may be the first non-memory I've seen?

Back on Feb 10, 2021, in a different thread exploring what Build code 855 is, Dave posted, (post #10). an older EPC screenshot showing it as a possible Nokia Phone option. The data card for this 500E has code 855 and a Nokia phone which seems to support that.
I started looking around after reading the LastVin 855 code explanation in this thread as a "New Transmission" - Huh?

The EPC shows the same 2 descriptions for this VIN, as in the other thread - screenshot below. Other docs I have only show the V140/NAG description but that could be if the Nokia reference is 1999 and newer than the docs I have:

Still a mystery as to what exactly 855 indicated circa 1993.

This 1993 Mercedes-Benz 500E is a European-market example that was imported to Canada during prior ownership and was acquired by the selling dealer in 2022. It is powered by a 5.0-liter M119 V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic over a two-tone blue and white leather interior. Equipment includes 18” AMG wheels, a rear spoiler, an Eisenmann exhaust system, fog lights, Automatic Slip Control, heated power-adjustable front seats, a power rear sunshade, carbon-fiber interior trim, aluminum pedal covers, dual-zone automatic climate control, a Continental stereo, a fire extinguisher, power windows and locks, a car phone, and cruise control. Service in 2020 consisted of resealing the oil pan in addition to replacing the oil level sensor, battery serpentine belt, valve cover gaskets, and spark plugs. This W124 500E shows 143k kilometers (~89k miles) and is now offered by the selling dealer with partial service records, factory literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Arkansas title.​

Carbon-fiber trim adorns the interior, and additional appointments include a fire extinguisher, aluminum pedal covers, a Continental stereo, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power rear sunshade, a power-adjustable steering column, a car phone, and cruise control.​

The leather- and carbon-fiber-trimmed steering wheel frames a 260-km/h speedometer, a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, an analog clock, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 143k kilometers (~89k miles).​

The 5.0-liter M119 DOHC V8 was factory rated at 322 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. Service in 2020 consisted of resealing the oil pan in addition to replacing the oil level sensor, battery serpentine belt, valve cover gaskets, and spark plugs. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. An Eisenmann exhaust system has been fitted. The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Ontario and Arkansas in two entries from 2016 and 2022.​

It's buried in sales literature somewhere, but yes, the 124 rear taillight lens shape is meant to improve light output / visibility in bad weather conditions. I don't know if "Anti-Snow Packing" is the most accurate description though.
