Hi,

I'm facing light on my dashboard ABS and ASR, its not on when I start the engine but lights as soon as the car moves up to speed. I have have pulled all codes first, then did a reset and ended up with the following two codes:
Pin #6 = 25 Left front axle VSS sensor (L6/1) implausible 2
(Rotor with incorrect tooth count, dirt accumulation on or damaged rotor, incorrect rear axle ratio, wrong wheel or tire size).

so I decided to take a look on both wheel speed sensor, and this was as expected:

I cleared the sensors but without any luck, I believe that the rotors is in such a bad shape that I need to replace them, anyone done that before or had similar problems?

Next code was Pin #7 = 6 Safety contact switch (M16/3s1), Stop lamp switch (S9/1), Cruise control switch (S40) OFF

I have no idea about what this is?

Clean off those sensors with a small wire brush and see if that helps. Also, open the CAN box and check the 3 fuses. One of mine was blown which set off the ABS light, I replaced the fuse and ABS light went away for good.

I just pulled my wheel speed sensors. I guess it's common to get metal from the brakes on this magnet. Even with all the metal the brakes performed fine.

As you can see on the two pictures at the bottom the roters which the sensors use are very rusty and dirty, the rust even hit the sensor when I move the wheel.
Cleaning sensors did not help.

I'd replace the sensor first, or swap left to right if they are the same.

You need to inspect the stator which is the hub inboard part. But, debris.rotate hub slowly and view through the hole. Measures resistance on sensor. Move wiring and see if there is a wiring break.

Fyi I did replace my abs computer as both sensors would throw codes.

Rotor replacement will do nothing... Hub or sensor

I actual meant the Hub - the picture with the small rusty teeth.
I replaced the wheel speed sensor (had one from another car) and removed some of rust from the hub.
Now I get a speed signal to my fgsswitch :-)
ABS light comes and go, and ASR is on all the time so I believe that I get a signal, but its not stable or the right speed measure due to the bad shape of the hub.

Maybe... Could clean and paint them. If someone can get you a set of rust free ones cheap from a pick n pull...

Wire wheel the parts first and a thin layer or paint. Clean out the shield.
