sounds good, going to order a set of 30 of the rear stage I. Still working on the right combo for the stage II. My shoot-from-the-hip 25mm may have been a little too much.

I upgraded the 500E's rear sway-bar links to the metal W124 wagon's back in 2002/2003, because I was routinely snapping the plastic sedan ones canyon carving in Santa Barbara.

I just picked up a W210 H&R rear sway bar, 20mm diameter. It appears that this MIGHT fit into the 500E, however, it probably will not work with SLS. For track rats that have SLS removed, it might be an easy option (and commonly available under $200 delivered). The W210 bar is 1.5 inches wider overall, and it is curved differently where the SLS bracket would normally attach... the notch present for an SLS bracket is in a different location. The 500E SLS valve won't connect properly. However, the W210 bar should work ok in 124 models without SLS.

Sooo, it's back to waiting for Brandon to come up with a 20-21mm, SLS-friendly bar for the 500E. The shape and SLS notch position will be critical.

:pc1:

Track rat is becoming Lemons racer FWIW...Off to get a full cage in the next couple of weeks..!

Jono - we need pics of the track rat!

Also, do you need any drivers ? I've had track experience 3-4 times a year since 1999; my buddy Colin is currently in Spec Miata; and my other buddy races Spec2000 (aka, Swifts).

I will take a bar- I do not really know which bar I need- stg 1 or 2.

I have staggered wheels. I want to remain with a bit of understeer, but balanced. Any Ideas?

I think it will be very difficult to determine how the car will react with different size bars, until some people actually test them. At the moment, it's all theoretical.

Remember that if you have staggered wheels/tires, the effect may be different...

:hornets:

I think as with the 560SEC swaybs, that I'm going to be the Jack-Man guinea pig for the 124 rear bar and the Wavetrac.

I'll certainly post up details as these get installed.

Gerry,

Is it possible to order extra sets of bushings for the Gen I bars?[
I will probably be buying 2 gen I bars and want to order back up bushings for both bars.

Cheers.
QUOTE=gerryvz;11303]Nope, no progress. I haven't been able to get my hands on one of the larger bars so that I can clone it.

When the production does happen (and it will...) I will be happy to send you a bar, Arnt. When I did the 300SEL 6.3 oilpan skidplate kits some years back, I think I ended up sending them to something like 8 different countries, as far away as South Africa and Australia. Shipping cost to Norway may be wacky, but my next-door neighbors are from Norway so I'll talk to them about the best way to do the logistics. They just returned from a 2-month holiday there :)

The kits will be complete and will include all bushings and hardware required. And instructions. I only ship COMPLETE kits when I do things.

Cheers,
Gerry[/QUOTE]

I want an extra set of bushings for every bar I buy. . . .I plan on really driving my car on 2 wheels ! While technically the other two wheels are 2mils off the road !

FINALLY shipping today from the manufacturer, should be in stock next week. Shoot me and email at sales at feind ms dot com if you are interested in a stage I.

I used feind at feindmotorsports dot com and it hasn't bounced yet...

Bars arrived today, waiting on custom U bolts (for SLS) and bushings to come in. Expecting bushings later this week and U bolts about the same.

Bars are $230 with new bushings, add an extra $11 for ones that are greaseable. Shipping will be about $35.

Brandon,

I recall it was a list with the takers somewhere here. Do you stay to that list, or shall we adress our needs over again?

So far am I in for 3 x Stage 1 rear bars to the Norwegians, but it may come another couple.

As for the swaybar links, Dave mentioned in post #145 that it could be safer to install the wagon links. But they need some changes, has anyone figured more on that?

Thanks

paypal addy is sales@feindms.com. Still waiting on the ubolts, but they should be in next week. I can ship you the bar now, and drop you a ubolt in the mail when they come in.

I just sent payment. I don't care if you don't ship them till later (no need to ship me a bar, and then bushings separately... just ship them whenever they arrive...). Thanks!

Jack-man,

Please keep one in hand for me ... sorry that I didn't make it up to College Station this summer. Darn time got away from me and I still need to get my new pumpkin guts from you too. Will try to do it either right before Thanksgiving or first week in December.

Still waiting for the U-bolt but I'll give a full report as soon as I install it.

One week from today? You stated they would be sent this week? My car is in for service now and to have sway bar mounted this week.

That is what I was told, sorry it seems to be dragging out. Just updating info as it comes in from my supplier. Soon as it come in, i'll next day air one out to you as you are in a pinch.
