Has anyone experimented with the 1432 and adding a Bluetooth interface via the Becker installed auxiliary input?

I am thinking about sending my radio in to Becker to have the auxiliary input added. If I then plug a Bluetooth receiver into the auxiliary input, I think I can use my phone for music and also as a speaker phone. I would have to provide power to the Bluetooth receiver, but that should not be too hard to cobble up from the guts of a cigarette lighter phone power cord.

My goal is to come up with a system that looks stock with the extra components hidden, is fairly easy to pair with different phones, sounds good and is reliable, and allows use of the phone without the hassle of an audio cable plugged into the phone.

I just did this to my wife's G500. MB has instructions on how to add an AUX port to the the Comand system. I did that with success.

I then bought this:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009NLTW60/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

$40 and it works well for both audio streaming and handsfree phone. The button, about the size of a half-dollar, needs to be mounted. It serves as the microphone and the controller. It doesn't look bad at all.

The benefit to this unit is that it automatically picks up your iPhone BT, even when you power off the car. Some units don't, and you have to mess around with your phone every time. It is highly rated on Amazon.

Please let me know the cost of adding the Aux port to the Becker radio. I may do that too.

Here is the link for Becker's auxiliary port: http://www.beckerautosound.com/1432-1991/aux_input.htm. As I recall, it is about $100 for the mod.

I am thinking about going with this Bluetooth receiver as it supports pairing with multiple devices: http://www.amazon.com/HomeSpot-NFC-...System/dp/B009OBCAW2/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top. My phone has NFC, so even though it does not auto connect, I can just touch the phone to it to connect. Sound quality is supposed to be very good and I will use the phone on a windshield mount so do not need a separate mic.

Recently had the aux input added by Becker, see photo below, it is in the center of the back panel. I put the radio back in the car and can now hardwire my iPhone via the 3.5 mm jack. It is necessary to put a cassette into the radio to use the aux input which is not ideal. I may also add Bluetooth for convenience and to clean up the install.

Check that the aux input is working properly before fully re-installing the radio. When playing music from my iPhone and hitting pause I could hear the music from the cassette, quiet but clearly there. Had to send the head unit back to Becker, they fixed the problem but it added another week.

While the HomeSpot is a great device, it has been relegated to use on a home stereo. It does not seem to support the Bluetooth HFP protocol, so would only play music but not phone calls in the car. For me, that is not good enough...

I'm still looking for options. Has anyone added the Tranzit Blu HF to their Becker 1432? Or a satisfactory Bluetooth adapter option that streams music and allows hands free calling?

I recently got this:

http://www.amazon.com/iClever-IC-F5...&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00

I haven't had it long enough to give a detailed review but so far it's fine. It sends music / phone calls / navigation instructions to the head unit via an unitilized FM frequency so no aux input is needed. Sometimes you have to hunt to find an unused FM frequency, and the sound may not satisfy the audiophiles among us, but my car stereo doesn't sound great to begin with compared to my E550's stereo so I don't have high expectations. I haven't researched it but I expect there is sound quality degredation when the music is transmitted via bluetooth and then again via FM. My biggest gripe in my two weeks of having it is that I wish it had an extra USB port so I could charge my phone with the bluetooth transmitter plugged in to the cigarette lighter. Also, if I remember correctly from the one call I had while driving, calls default to using the phone and not external speakers. So you have to press to engage speaker or bluetooth to talk to the caller.
