After the moise issue that has been solved, There is a minor issue. The engine rpm jump up and down, a specially when the engine hot.. there is good fuel pressure. I suspect that the camshaft sensor failed..

There is no difference if it connected or disconnected..

Any thoughts or tips?

Cam position sensor failures are almost unheard of. Why do you think that is the problem, other than no change in idle when you disconnect it?

Vacuum leak as @emerydc8 said is far more likely.

There are all symptoms if cam shaft failure
Engine stalling, rpm jumps and its looks like fuel problem, although the fuel pressure is good

Start with pulling fault codes from all modules with a hand-held blink code reader, clear all codes, then start the engine and see what codes show up immediately. That will point you in the right direction. Specifically you want the codes from the LH (fuel) and EZL (ignition) systems along with E-GAS (throttle control).

This PDF document is for the W124 but all the codes are the same for your R129 as it has identical LH-SFI injection:

More info on how to pull codes is in the De-Coding subforum, read through the stickies:

I have got the following errors:

Pin 4 -8, pin6-30, pin 7 -2,6,7,14, pin 8-5,6,16
It looks like camshaft sensor and EA?

Thought id document this. Yes that is copper wire on my cam and the other half of the sensor is likely in my oil pain i will have to take the valve covers off to remove it asap. But i installed a new sensor and car is back to running normal.

Issues that made me aware was approximately 5 second crank but will always start, Low power and chugging, and i wish i photographed it but the sensor was like how it was in the first photo when i checked under my hood at the gas station.

I was messing with it and in the area the previous weekend as i was aware it was beginning to fail but didn’t realize it was way worse than i thought and i must’ve put the final nail in the coffin without realizing it.
